Chapter 1
Sora Mahisa actually had confessed him self as a betray soldiers even though he deny it. When he said that his right step was at Wulansari and the other step was at Medang.
Now he worried whether a secret agent of the King would report the Princess presence at their military HQ of Kedungsongo. Of course, the King would be very angry hearing that news. Therefore, he has to hide her lover at a save place.
Now, he wants to see his lover became lovely as usual; he ordered some women to make up her. Then some women worked to make Princess became pretty.Princess became pretty, attractive and lovely; she smiled to every one.
Prince Sora Mahisa guided his lover, introduced her to his soldiers and spoke to them for getting leave.
“Gentlemen, I was proud to introduce my fiancée, here they are Princess Putri sekarpandanwangi from Medang Kingdom. We had known since I lived at Kedungsongo and we fallen in love to each other.Now we want to married at Kuteprabu city; therefore, we want permit to leave.My function as Commandant at war will be held by Boyo Pitu until I would come back.”
“What? Do you want to marry me? I absolutely disagreed with you, how dare you; I hate you. You were the killer of my father.” Princess asked Sora whispering.
“It was just a trick; I will mention to you that it was not right.” Sora whispered to his lover.
“VIVA PRINCE SORA MAHISAVIVA PRINCESS PUTRI SEKARPANDANWANGI.”
That day was a happy day since every body was happy. They made party and have a big meal because of their leader wants to marry. No starvation was among the soldiers of Wulansari.
On the opposite, the refugees were starvation and some of them fallen death, especially the young and the old persons.
Sora Mahisa gave his reason, “I would like to bring you to somewhere a save place; therefore, I have to ask permit to leave. My father not allows me to go for leave except the reason could understand; that was a marrying. I have to lie to my subordinate.
I am sure my father had planned to do bad action to both of us.”
“Wow horrible; please darling saves me now; you are my lion to save me as a chicken.”
The next day, the two couple had gone to northern, crossed the border toward Kuteprabu City, the Capital City of Wulansari Kingdom. They used carriage drawn by four horses. They seem went gone in hurry since Sora knew that a secret agent of his father had given information concerning his lover. Therefore, he had to hide his lover immediately.
Princess had never talked as long as their journey, “How I could understand my lover had killed my father because of political reason; no, I could not understand!
Shall I kill him or his father? How I hate him.
More even, he brought me at a place that was real nest of the python. I have suspicion that perhaps he wants to push me in jail at Kuteprabu.” Princess thought.
Finally, Prince Sora Mahisa said, “Darling, I would hide you at the save place; it was Watukumpul Village at the northern border of our Country. I knew the chief of village, Demang Kromo; he was my friend.We would spend one night at the Palace.”
“Shall we meet python snake?”
“No, the python was at battlefield at Majapahit; you would be saving.”
“Sora Mahisa, I was your prisoner; therefore, I would surrender to you whatever you want to do on me; I was just lost Queen of Demang Kingdom.”
“Please Sekarpandanwangi do not talked about that, remember that I loved you; please you should blame my father, not me.”
“Thank you darling; now I believed that you would protect me then the rope of love became stronger than that before.”
Chapter 2
King Girindrawardana was at battlefield in Majapahit Kingdom. He won at war. The Royal Family run into forest for hiding and people of Majapahit became refugees. The Palace of Trowulan burnt down as same as Medang Palace.
A soldier faced his King, “You’re Majesty, I brought news for you that Prince Sora Mahisa would marry with Princess Putri Sekarpandanwangi from Medang Kingdom.”
“What? He should ask me concerning his married. I have a candidate girl for his wife.How my son would marry with our enemy, it was an impossible think.We have to prepare our action on him.”
“What we want to do now?”
“You just watch Princess Sekarpandanwangi at wherever she wants to spend her time.”
The King wants to conquer every Kingdom surround his Kingdom. He though he could become rich and could make his people prosperous, but he was not.
People of Medang, Majapahit and Blambangan had been gone to Bali Island as refugees; then he found an empty land without people.
Even though he had successfully conquered those Kingdoms, he was disappointed finding an empty land and black burnt of many towns and villages. He admired himself was very wrong by destroyed, burnt and killed innocent human.
The King commanded his soldiers to return home.
His secret agent faced him, “You’re Majesty, Demak Kingdom at northern would attack on us.”
“Demak Kingdom was at North of our border.”
“Yes it was right; perhaps they want to introduce a new religious or they want to conquer our Country.”
“Let us go home, provide our Country!”
Chapter 3
Prince Sora Mahisa had opportunity to attempt and to persuade his lover just one nightat Palace. He prepared his rendezvous at Palace garden yard.
Princess was not happy and even afraid stayed in the horrible Palace; she realized that place was a nest of “python snake”. Sometimes the snake could come and bite chicken.
Sora Mahisa sang a song that might be able to remind her of good moment when they were at Kaputren room of Medang Palace. He has confidence could defeat his lover. He remembered when he touched, hugged and kissed her; that song was a popular song at that time.
He disappointed when he saw Princess cried; seems she felt sadness.
“Why did you cry darling?”
“That song reminds me my Kaputren room and my Palace that you had destroyed; and even you had killed our people not just my parents. You and your soldiers were cruel.
I hate you.”
Sora Mahisa kept silent, gloomed face and finally cried.
“Why did you also cry? A winner King did not have to cry, but laugh.”
“Darling, please do not blame me but my father; please forgive me! Oh God, please forgive me! I regretted what I had done. I hate my own father.”
Afterward, Princess read poem,
You looked like a moon among many stars
You are great, shone and bright
Night was beautiful because of you
Suddenly, you had gone because of eclipse
Night became dark, bleak and cool
Hi, where are you?
“I am here darling; you knew that eclipse just a short moment not so long that the night became beautiful again; even more beautiful than that before.”
Suddenly Princess said, “Sora Mahisa, please save me now, I am afraid of King’s soldiers or secret agents.” She felt was in jeopardy if she would have stay in the Palace.
“We have to depart at midnight since tomorrow morning would become late.”
“Why?”
“My father and his entire soldiers would come. I am sure he had already known our relation ship. I am sure he had his plan to give punishment to us.”
“Please “lion” help “the chicken” since “the python” would come soon.”
“I am ready to help you. You will depart to Watukumpul Village along with my soldiers; you can trust our soldiers. Watukumpul was a save place for you.”
“Thank you darling; I need the rope of love, love of you. I am frightened to King’s secret agents who would catch on me.”
In midnight, a carriage went off from rear of Palace toward northern. Some soldiers guided the carriage. It was a secret journey of Royal Palace.
After took two days they had reached Watukumpul Village. Demang Kromo received Princess respectfully. He knew that the woman was Prince’s fiancée.
Princess Putri Sekarpandanwangi was happy since she knew the village was a save place. She preferred the village; since it was a lonely place.
Chapter 4
King Girindrawardana came to Kuteprabu City. Some people attended to welcome their King but not much. If you asked people in the street concerning the war then they would say NO; they disagreed with their King.
The King needed rest after fought at battlefield. Many soldiers guided his room since the King worried whether some one could stab a keris on his chest.
That day the King would make war meeting urgently. Every military staffs had attended at Balairung hall; they sat on the floor, kept silent and looked strain.One of them whispered, asked to his friend,
“Shall we attack another Country?”“Yes, you right.”
Finally, the King accompanied by Prince Sora Mahisa, Patih Gajah Urip and some guards came into Balairung Hall.
Sora Mahisa frightened whether his father would give punishment to him because he want to marry a Princess of enemy. The punishment for him will come exactly, since the King had known the problem of his son. Sora Mahisa hope it would not come now but other time.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, I draw our military power from battlefield immediately because our Country would be attacked by Demak Kingdom. The information came from our secret agent. We do not know when they would come but we must ready of their invasion every time.
Therefore, I commanded to Prince Sora Mahisa to draw his legion from Medang Kingdom. Patih Gajah Urip, you have to prepare our soldiers immediately.
I want to know, how many our soldiers amount?”
“The amount was three thousands and would be four thousand and five hundred with Prince Soldiers.”
“Very good, the troop would divide in two groups.
I will lead Group 1, along with Patih Gajah Urip, Boyo Pitu and Boyo Lali.Prince Sora Mahisa will lead Group 2.
Group 1 will assign at northeastern and Group 2 at west eastern.”
Afterward, the King dismissed the meeting. The audiences relieved since the King did not angry; especially Prince Sora Mahisa. However, Sora asked in his heart, “Why the King did not give punishment to me; as if he pretended not to know my problem.”
Sora Mahisa thought that war against Demak Kingdom would be at Watukumpul Village as battlefield; therefore, his lover has to move again in other save place.
Sora Mahisa has a mansion at northwestern site, Kaliurang Village precisely. Princess Putri Sekarpandanwangi could move to his mansion. He ordered his soldiers to bring Princess to Kaliurang Village.
He planned to build military HQ at same place.
Princess was happy living at Watukumpul Village. One day she received a letter from her lover saying that she has to move again, “How every King in Java became crazy that they had fought to each other; then every site became battlefield.”
Before her move, she rode a horse to travel around the village. Demang Kromo was a good person that he lends his horse to Princess.
Princess rode her horse for enjoying. She saw the farmer planted rice and vegetables; it was a beautiful village because no war in this place. Every body worked in peace condition.
However, some group of farmer wearied large hat that concealed their face; they were strange and different from the other. Princess had suspicion whether they were spy from Demak. She came near the farmers just wants to see their activity.
“Good morning Princess Putri Sekarpandanwangi!” One of the farmers greeted Princess.
“Hi you Ki Manjangan even though you had concealed your face but I still knew your voice. How are you?” Princess went down from her horse and approached her subordinates.
Ten soldiers of Medang Kingdom greeted their Princess. Princess was happy. Ki Manjangan and his soldiers had touched in deep of her heart. They had followed her until at top of Wulansari territory at far north of Watukumpul Village.
“How did you know that I have been here?” Princess asked.
“It was a long story Master. When you had gone into HQ of Kedungsongo we were sad. We assumed that Sora Mahisa would have killed you.
However, in the next day we saw a carriage had had gone to northern; the passenger was you and Sora Mahisa. Therefore, we followed you until we reached the Palace at Kuteprabu City.
We had to wait you at out side of Palace. My friend gave suggestion, “We have to go inside the Palace and meet Princess.”
“How do we can go inside?”
“We would look for job in the Palace.”
My friend named Singo Barbaran went into Palace and asked job at secretary office. He was lucky that they had given a job to clean garden yard of Palace.
Now Singo would you tell Princess your experience in the Kuteprabu Palace.”
Singo Barbaran told, “One evening, when I swept garden yard I saw Princess was talking with a man; I hid under bush and watched them. Nevertheless, a soldier chases me away.
I slept in the garden yard of Palace. In the midnight, I heard sound of carriage and gallop of horses. I woke up and saw a carriage draw by four horses had gone via gate of the rear Palace. I run after to see who the passenger was. I could see the passenger it was you.
I wake up my friends; then we went followed the carriage immediately until we had reached this village.”
“Why did you follow me Ki Manjangan?” Princess asked.
“We were soldiers of Medang Kingdom; we have our task to protect you wherever you had been. Now, we successfully saved you.”
“Thank you very much. Who order you?”
“Akuwu Wengker, our Commandant at war.”
“Let us seat on the grass under banyan tree at there. We would have been yearning and discussing what can we do in the war situation.”
They went to banyan tree shade for resting.
Afterward, Princess said, “Again I want to say thank you to all of you. You must know that Demak Kingdom would attack Wulansari; but I do not know when. Therefore, I have to move again to western, at Kaliurang Village precisely.
Ki Manjangan and the others, you have to follow me at a distance and save me as usual; until I would have come to Kaliurang Village.”
Ki Manjangan answered, “Princess, we afraid of you that you could be killed by enemy when you have been at enemy’s Palace or HQ. I would like to suggest you to escape now; it was an opportunity to escape from Sora Mahisa; then follow me to a save place.”
“Thank you very much for the suggestion. However, I have my mission to kill the highest rank authority of Wulansari Kingdom. Our Commandant had discussed this mission with me. I am sorry that you were not attending the meeting.
That was a secret mission, so please do not divulge.”
“Wow, you have hard mission to kill King Girindrawardana; how can?”
“Yes I knew that, so please pray for me, I hope Goddess were in my side to help me in this war.”
“How we can help you Princess?” Ki Manjangan asked.
“Just protect me as you had done before.Tomorrow morning we would depart. So we have to part now; until tomorrow morning."
Chapter 5
Wulansari Kingdom secretary had announced to large people that northern area must evacuate because Demak Kingdom would attack. The Government had suggested people to move to western area. Government provided soldiers to guide them since many robbers could disturb their way.
Princess was among the refugees of Wulansari people. Wulansari soldiers guided her tightly as Sora order; Ki Manjangan disappointed and hated Wulansari soldiers very much. Sometimes Princess turned her head to see her soldiers, Ki Manjangan and his subordinates.
Princess has been gone; she disappeared behind the hill. Ki Manjangan has to fast their horse to run after her.
On top of the hill, a mob of soldiers had rest; they were not Wulansari soldier but perhaps Demak Soldiers. Ki Manjangan could not continue their journey otherwise; they would have fought against them.
“We should ask them not to disturb our way; we confess our self as Wulansari soldiers.” Singo Barbaran gave suggestion.
“Their amount was more than one hundred and they have full weapon as if they were ready for combating. I disagreed with you. I assumed them want to go to Kaliurang too the same as ours.
I command you Singo pretend as a grass cutter who works at the place they would pass away. You would be polite to show them the way to Kaliurang; in opportunity you could ask who they are?”
Singo Barbaran worked to cut grass; he wearied common clothes as a farmer.
Not so long, the soldiers came; their leader used mask to conceal his face. He asked to Singo, “Hi farmer, could you show us the way to Kaliurang Village.”
“You can go this way, after you find branch way then you turn left, not so long you would find your destination.”
“Are you Medang citizen? I heard you used regional language as Medang people.”
“Yes I am; I am refugees because of war. Any way, who are you?”
“I am Akuwu Wengker.” He opened his mask.
Singo Barbaran gave saluted and said, “My name Singo Barbaran, my group was Ki Manjangan group; our task to protect Princess.”
“Where were your friends?”
“We were over here.” Somebody shouted from the forest. Ki Manjangan and his subordinates came out from the forest and gave saluted to their Commandant at war.
“Very good Ki Manjangan; how was Princess? Is she OK?”
“Yes she was; now she lived at Kaliurang Village with her fiancé Sora Mahisa.”
“Let us go into forest since this place would become battlefield.” Akuwu said.
Then they went into forest, made camp and erected tent. Their amount was almost two hundred soldiers.
They afraid of their Princess safety; therefore, they came crossing north border of their Country and followed their Princess.
