Chapter 1

The day for attacking has come; Raden lead two hundred soldiers go straight to Kediri City. While Yeh Luchi with two thousand soldiers depart from Tuban. They met Raden Wijaya at one place to discuss strategy.

"I will conceal your Army in the forest; Meanwhile I will challenge King Jayakatwang until he and his soldiers go out from his Palace and run after me. They will reach the forest, that you hide. And finally you can hit them.
Do you have another option?” Raden Wijaya asked.

“Your plan is good then I will follow you.” Yeh Luchi said.

Raden Wijaya has being in front of the Palace along with two hundred soldiers.
He shouted to Jayakatwang who is standing in the balcony of the Palace,watching.

“Hi Jayakatwang! I challenge you in a fair duel. You must pay your debt.
You have killed my father in law therefore I have to kill you too, to make it ballance.
Hi, coward! I am waiting for you!”

“Hi you, I wonder why you become odd. You said that you want to be my people and even want to be my soldier who loyal to King Jayakatwang, why did you angry to me at sudden?
You are ill-bred. Ok I will kill you now.”

The Palace Gate is oppened and then a mob of horsemen soldiers come out led by King Jayakatwang. However, Raden Wijaya has gone. He has run away just dust left behind him.

Raden Wijaya and his soldiers run away toward the forest where the Mongol were hiding.
Raden go into the forest then disappear; So did his soldoiers.

A soldier of Kediri pointed the forest, “Master, I saw him has gone into the forest over there. Let us look for him !”

“Yes you right, go!” King Jayakatwang said.

Suddenly, two Kediri Soldiers stab by arrow and death. A mob of Tar-tar soldiers come out from the forest at sudden then fight Kediri soldiers with long sword. Then the two Army fight, kill and to be killed each other.
Meanwhile Raden Wijaya and his soldiers just keep on watching in the deep forest.

Mongol’s Army is profession that have many experience at many battle field of war. However, Kediri’s Army has declared them self as suicide squad. They have promised to donate their soul for their Country, Kediri Kingdom.
Therefore, they will fight as hard as he could until they die; For the shake of Kediri Kingdom (The old Kingdom before Singosari Kingdom).

Not easy to defeat Kediri soldiers, by then the Mongol has to give their effort fully.

Many victims from both side has fallen down to death; Earth has been smeared by blood of Kediri soldiers as well as Mongol.

Suddenly Jayakatwang commanded, “Retreat, back to Palace!” The command was repeated by Penyewu (Staff of military officer with subordinate amount of one thousand soldiers.)

The Kediri Army retreated slowly, back again into Palace. While the Mongol just follow their enemies slow down; Seems they are not keenly to kill his enemies, now. May be they thought about the advantage. What is reason for killing a King that they have never known; They knew that Jayakatwang is not Kertanegara.
They just have task to kill King Kertanegara.

Perhaps Yeh Luchi saying before was right when he said, that their task has ended because of Kertanegara has already death, then they can go home.
Unfortunately, Raden Wijaya has aroused Yeh Luchi’s anger by saying that Jayakatwang was conceited as same as Kertanegara who has cut Meng Qi’s ear.

The proceedings of cuting ear has made Yeh Luchi angry at sudden, then he gave command to attack Jayakatwang.

The Palace Gate is shut and no one Kediri soldier left behind.
Yeh Luchi stopped his soldiers, not to follow enemies into. “Let us rest for a while!”

Raden Wijaya come out from the forest. He approached Yeh Luchi,” Let us burn his Palace. Make it burnt down included Jayakatwang.”

Raden Wijaya release fire arrow in to the Palace and so did his soldiers. Yeh Luchi also gave his command to burn Palace. The Palace is in flame easily.

“Raden, I want to catch Jayakatwang lively, not deadly.” Yeh Luchi said.

“Why?” Raden asked

“He could pay tribute regularly every year to our Kingdom.”

“Oh...you choose him to be a King of Java, not me; OK then I will go home now.”

“No,I don’t mean like that. I agreed with you as a King in Java,beside Jayakatwang.”

“There is only one sun in the World; So the King is, just one King as Java King.
Anyway, believe me that I will give you more two boxes of jewelry as I have promised to you. The box will be the same as you have now.
Do you agree with me?”

“OK I agreed with you; You are the only King in Java.”

“Thank you! Jayakatwang is a greedy King, I am sure he will never give you valuable thing as I did. Therefore, eliminate him, kill him! “ Raden said furiously.

Raden and Yeh Luchi as well as entire of both Army have been waiting until the flame on the building subside.

Raden Wijaya gave sign to keep silent for a moment, “ Settttt......Please keep silent! Hear with your ear!...Do you hear some one else cry or scream because of he got burnt.?” He asked to Yeh Luchi.

“No, I didn’t “

“It’s strange! Why? Where they have gone to avoid the flame?...............
Oh I know, they have been running away, escaping through the secret tunnel.
Let us look for estuary of the tunnel.” Raden said.

Raden ride his horse around the burning Palace for searching, where the estuary is. Finally, he found the Kediri soldiers along with their King come out from the tunnel.
Jayakatwang surprised when he saw Raden Wijaya along with his soldiers.

Now Raden Wijaya fight seriously, not just watching. He use his spear to kill his enemies, so did his soldiers. He wants to show his partner Yeh Luchi that just one King in Java.

Yeh Luchi gave command to his Army to attack; Then the second round battle rising. Kediri soldiers fought as hard as he can, then many victims were falling down to death, included King Jayakatwang himself.

After all, The Kediri Army was loser and The Mongol was the winner.

Historian said that there were five thousand dead bodies of Kediri soldiers laid down on the ground (?) May be untrue.

The Mongol Army has ruin also; many victims of them has fallen down to death; The remainder who survive wants to go home immediately;They asked for going home toYeh Luchi and Ike Mase.

Ike Mase agreed with his soldiers to go home as soon as possible; since the task has been done successfully.

However, Yeh Luchi still wants to get the two boxes of jewelry as Raden Wijaya saying that the two boxes was save in Majapahit land.

Ike Mase suggest to his Commandant, “Please don’t trust with Java men. The majority of them are liar, rude and cheeky. So let us go home now.”

“Majapahit Land is not so far from here. You could figure out how wonderful the content of those boxes, gold and jewelry; That must be valuable thing and expensive.”

“I am not attracted wit those boxes, but I want to go home now..” Ike Mase said.

“Yes you right we want to go home!” The Mongol soldiers shouted altogether.

“OK, I am a leader of you. I knew you are exhausted, then I agreed with you for you could going home immediately.
But I want to get those boxes,even though I have to go alone.

I would rather to be accompanied by you than without you; So I offer you that I will give you percentage to every one who wants to accompany me.’ Yeh Luchi said.

Finally Yeh Luchi accompanny with five soldiers. They followed Raden Wijaya and his soldiers toward Majapahit Land.

Raden lose one hundred of his soldiers in that battle.

Yeh Luchi happy with gleaming face as clue; Even he make a joke on the way to Majapahit land. He learnt some word of Old Java language; With that word he try to make joke.

“How long will we come, hi Raden?” Yeh Luchi asked.

“Almost, you can see the Majapahitland from here.” Raden said

Suddenly an attack come at sudden; One of Mongol soldier death with an arrow stab in his stomach.

“Hi Raden becareful we have been attacked by enemy.”

“Yes we are that enemy.” Raden said.

“What you say? You are enemy?”

“Yes I am then I will kill you.”

Yeh Luchi unsheated his sword, fight Raden Wijaya. However he was stabbed by a Singosari soldier’s spear from behind; He death already. The four Momgol soldiers also were killed.

There was an old man on his horse; He came along with one thousand soldiers of horses cavalery; He is Arya Wiraraja.

“Let us attack the remainder of Mongol!.” Arya Wiraraja command.

“Welcome Uncle. The Mongol are going home straight to Tuban harbor; They were exhausted and depressed; They were not eagerly to fight. Let them go!”

“No, kill them all!. If you didn’t finish this war properly then they will come again; Believe me!” Arya Wiraraja said.

“Really? I am not sure uncle.
OK I will do to finish them. However, our Army isn’t strength enough to fight them, even though they were exhausted. Therefore, think twice, what’s advantage by attacking them.”

“You right Raden; However, we must show our strength to them. They must tell their King, King Kublai Khan that the King of Java isn’t a trifling King.”

“By this reasoning, I agreed with you uncle.
Our strategy that I suggested, we will attack them with arrows when they pass the forest ‘Wono Keling’. Mean while you will follow them from behind with voice of drum and dust at behind you, as if you bring the large Army.
We will come by passing short road to come to Wono Keling; Hoping we will come before they come.”

“That is a good strategy of us; OK soldiers we move now!” Arya Wiraraja said keenly.”

Raden Wijaya bring his small amount soldiers, are going into forest of Wono Keling. The Mongol almost come into. Raden found his site for hiding, so did his soldiers. They prepare their archer bow and arrows.

After a while, the Mongol come. One of them fell down to death, stabbed by an arrow. The other became panic because the enemies didn’t show up. Ike Mase gave command install their shield on beside and walk slowly.

However, The Mongol has been following with other enemies unexpected. Therefore, they must run away to avoid a battle; Because of their enemies likely a large amount of Java soldiers; Beside they don’t want to fight again.

Wono Keling isn’t far from Tuban Harbor. The Mongol reached harbor finally. They are going into their ships each in a hurry; Then the ships embark to China Land.
The threatened has gone already. Every Singosarian is happy now.

The two leaders, Raden and Arya Wiraraja met and hugged to each other to declare their winner.

“Thank you very much Uncle, without you we couldn’t defeat our enemies; Just God will pay you back.”

“That was my contribution to my Country. Singosari is my Country and your Country too, then we have fought hand in hand. However, Jayakatwang and the rebels were excluded.”

Raden Wijaya is so happy that he hug again Arya Wiraraja, “Please don’t go again, we welcome you in Kingdom of Singosari.”

“I would rather name Majaphit for our Kingdom than Singosari; Because I ever have bad experience with name of Singosari. What do you think? “

“That is a good idea of you; I agreed with you. Then our kingdom is Majapahit Kingdom.”

“OK Let us announce it to the peopole.”

“Therefore, the site of Capital City will be at Majapahit; OK ?” Raden asked.

“Yes surely, because Singosari Palace has burnt already.”

"That wasn’t a reason, but a new Kingdom should have a new Capital City and a new Palace.
I want to give name of our Palace; The name of the Palace will be “Trowulan.”
Raden said.

“Wow...... that is a beautiful name, I agreed with you.”

One Month later on, Raden Wijaya was inaugurate as a King with title “Rajasa Jayawardhana.” Therefore, his name is King Raden Wijaya Rajasa Jayawardhana.

The four sisters also included in the ceremonial of inauguration. They are happy too

Raden Wijaya build his new Palace, the Trowulan Palace at Majapahit Land.

Majapahit Kingdom was a famous Kingdom in Nusantara, beside Sriwijaya Kingdom previously in Palembang City, Sumatra Island.


Once of moment, Admiral Navi, Adityawarman came home from Sumatra in his task with term ‘Pamalayu Mission’ after many years.

He brought two Princess of Pagaruyung Kingdom. Name of them each is Dara Petak and Dara Jingga. Those Princess as clue of friendship of both Kingdom, Pagaruyung and Singosari.

Raden Wijaya received the Princess and marry with Dara Petak. They have a son, name Kala Gemet and soon become Majapahit King the Second with title King Jayanegara.

Mean while Raden with Gayatri has a daughter, name Tribuana Tungga Dewi.

After Jayanegara passed away, was killed by Tanca the Shaman(see the story of’the assassination of a King’), Tribuana Tungga Dewi replace as Queen of Majapahit.

Son of Tribuana Tungga Dewi, name Hayam Wuruk replace his mother as King the Fourth of Majapahit Kingdom. Majapahit has their ‘Golden Period’ in Hayam Wuruk rulling.

The owner of this story told that Adityawarman wonder when he just came home, “Who has destroyed our Palace?” He asked.

“Jayakatwang has done it.”

“Who is Jayakatwang?”

“The chief of rebels who also has killed King Kertanegara.”

“We haven’t news while we were abroad, then it make me surprise. There were so many changing that I have never known. Even my beloved King has passed away; Had been killed by a chief of rebels. I should have known about threatened of Jayakatwang. If I had known the threatened then we would have come back with our Army.”

“More even we had been attacked by foreigner legion; The Mongol has come, want to punish King Kertanegara; Because of Kertanegara had made King Kublai Khan got anger when his ambassador’s ear had been cut by King Kertanegara.”

“What you say?.......the Mongol Army had come to Java....Amazing; Unbelieveable.”

“At the end... King Raden Wijaya Rajasa Jayawardhana can be able to chase The Mongol Army away.”

“What ....? The Mongol can be defeated by our King? Wow it’s wonderful
