Preface
Location in East Java, year
1006, in Watugaluh City (now Jombang), there was a King, who was believed as
embodiment of God, The Wisnu God.
Bad event has happened in
that time, of war attack; It had been
launched by King Wurawari, assisted by Sriwijaya soldiers. They had destroyed the Watugaluh Palace and
killed all the people in the Palace.
Then Watugaluh Palace of
Medang Kingdom ruin and The Kingdom
collapse too.
The attack came at sudden,
when The Palace has been making a wedding party. Therefore The King as well as his family dead; They had been killed by the enemies. But his son in law, Airlangga could escape,
saving his live, then he run away into forest for hiding.
This isn’t history, but my
grandma’s story.
My Grandma wonder by King of
Airlangga, who she believes as Wisnu God.
In her story, my Grandma try
to mention about “Law of Karma”. What
kind of law is ?
So, please read her story
carefuly, because the law will never
change forever, and in effect for everybody all over the World.
Before her story begin, she
sing a song,
The disaster hit us
Who did the war attacked? They must be blame ?
Who kill my father in law and my wife, as well as most of the
people ?
I have my grudge and anger in my mind,
Shall I revenge by attacking my enemy ?
But I should know that,
Who has come to make
hurt on us, they also had ever been hurt by some one
So, who did ever hurt
them, before ?
Frankly I must said, Yes, we are. We have ever hurt them, before.
Therefore, God has given punishment upon us, now
The punishment of God will hit upon one who does cheat in the
World.
Human has no right to give back punishment, but God.
You just keep on watching, what’s will going on in the next,
later on.
Just time will prove that the punishment has come already.
God never sleep.
Proloque
The wedding party conducted in
The Watugaluh Palace; Airlangga as Groom and Dewi Laksmi Anggraeni as Bride. The couple sat on a beautiful chair in front
The King and his family as well as all the guests.
People of Medang were happy;
They ate delicious meal from Palace Kitchen.
The music instrument was
starting to play, then the dancers were dancing.
That was the merry party, every
body was happy then.
Then The King, Dharmawangsa
Teguh will have a son in law from Bali Kingdom; Therefore the two Kingdoms
would have been companion Kingdom to each other.
The King was happy.
Unfortunately, there was
disaster came at sudden.
A mob of robbers came and
shouted, “ Destroy ! Destroy ! Destroy !
Kill them all ! Kill them all ! Kill them all ! “
Seems they were not robber,
but real soldiers whose came for
attacking.
The security Palace asked
them, “ Who are you ? Who is your leader
?”
But they didn’t answer him,
but their weapon answering by action; Therefore many victims dead at sudden in every
where. The party become uproar; Women
cried and screamed, babys and children cried. Many dead bodies lie down spreading,
in and out door of Palace.
The anarchists were coming, became
more and more. They were real army of
enemy Kingdom, who came for war attacking.
Unfortunately, Medang
soldiers didn’t prepare for fightingl; They tried as hard as they could to save
The King and Kingdom Family, but they fail.
Therefore The King was dead already as well as all of his family,
included the Bride as Airlangga’s wife; They have been killed.
But the Groom could be able
to escape and still alive; He was Airlangga.
Every body who still alive as
well as soldiers, run away for their living; Included Airlangga and his body
guard, Narottama.
The enemies soldier become
the winner; They burnd down The Palace, included all dead bodies in there. The Palace become dust and charcoal; The dead
bodies were burnd also; Their face no more couldn’t be known.
Chapter 1
Airlangga accomapanies by his
guard, Narottama, came into dense forest, for hiding. His breath fast since he feels fear and
depress, for just escaping from jeopardy situation, in his wedding party. All of The Kingdom Family were dead already,
included The King and his daughter, as Airlangga’s wife.
“ Who are they, Narottama
? They were sadistic and brutal, I hate
them !”
Narottama gives water drink from a jar to his Master; Airlangga drinks the water.
Narottama answers, “ I don’t
know Master. But as I heard the way they
talked, seems to me, they are Lwaram men.”
“Lwaram ! I knew the Lwaram is our territory; So, King
Wurawari has launched rebellion to us, now.”
“ Yes I agree with you, that King
Wurawari from Lwaram was the man who responsible in this case.
I saw some enemy soldiers
used uniform soldier of Sriwijaya; That
was clue, they were real Sriwijaya soldier.
So that the King Wurawari has been assisted by Sriwijaya to attack us.”
“ What you say ? Sriwijaya ? “
“ Yes I am sure, they are.”
“ Now I understood, why did
Sriwijaya has come to attack us, at sudden;
That was a revenge attack, because of King Dharmawangsa Teguh had ever
launched an attacked to them, some years ago.
So, Medang Kingdom has been
collapsed now, because all of his Army has been destroyed and even The King,
King Dharmawangsa Teguh dead already.”
“ What can we do now ? Where we want to go now ? “
“ I will hide in the dense
forest, for waiting them to go. Then I
will rebuild my father in law’s Kingdom.”
“ For how long that you want
to wait ? I think Sriwijaya men will
stay in our land for a long times; So, do you want to stay in the forest for a
long times too ?”
“ You right Narottama ! I don’t want to stay in the forest for a long
times.
May be they like to live in
Java land; Then, they would be happy and call all of his family to move to
Java. Then Java Island would have been
their colony.
But I promise to fight and
chase them all away.
Just God will help us now;
Just God would assist my struggle to fight at battle war.”
Airlangga prays,
Goddess, please stop your punishment.
That was enough, please no more ! Please no more.
I knew that you have your anger to us, then you gave your
‘Paralaya’ (disaster)
As you have ever given your other ‘Paralaya’before.
That was, Mount Merapi had ever erupted, and blown the hot
materials upon of us.
Spreading it between our people. We have to have moved to Eastern, living our beautiful Palace and
our planting garden.
Now, you’ve just given the second Paralaya.
I knew that you have sent the enemies soldier into our Palace,
while we have a party.
So my family and friends dead as war victims, included our
belove King.
I knew, that disaster you called it by term ‘Law of Karma’
That was the Law of Karma, since our King had ever launched
an attack to Sriwijaya, before.
But Law of Karma
should hit just for our King.
Not for his people.
Please forgive us !
Please forgive us!
We want to live in peace condition.
No more war! No more
war ! No more war !
Please make them cool, for them having their willing toward peace.
We want to mercy them, for their brutality murdering of our people
and our King.
Narottama disagree with Airlangga’s
praying, “ Do you want to make peace with those enemies ? Something wrong in your mind !
Remember, that they have
killed the Bride; That was your wife really.
They have killed your father in law; He was also our belove King, The
King Dharmawangsa Teguh.
That was an awkward idea of
you, by making peace to those bastard enemies. !
Hi Sriwijaya men, I will
revenge on you, wait until then! “
Airlangga didn’t answer yet;
He keep silent for thinking.
Afterward, he answers,
“Do you think, if we could
revenge and have killed them, then my wife would have been alive again ?
I ask you, what effort of us, for fighting the
Sriwijaya’s Army ?
You must think realize
that we have been destroyed now, as if
our Kingdom looks like paralyze sick man, in which he can’t be able to move his
arms and legs. We hopeless !
Just God will help us.”
Narottama fall silent. He
actually agree with Airlangga’s thought.
So the forest become more
silent.
Suddenly some one whispers in
Airlangga’s ear, but no one appear in the forest.
“ You right Airlangga, you
just look like an ant who wants to fight an elephant; That would be impossible
thing. So I suggest you, to make peace
with them !
You must bury your grudge and
anger, into deep of soil.
Then you have to make peace
with them.
I am God of Wisnu.
Remember I will help you,
when you would have to face your enemy !
I promise it to you !
Actually, your event of disaster
has been written long times ago, by myself.
You right concerning ‘Law of Karma’ ; That was the punishment for some
one, who has ever done mistake and cheat; That law of karma has been hit upon your
King, King Dharmawangsa Teguh; He also
your father in law.
But for you, I would have rewritten
your scenario of live, since I knew you right.”
Airlangga astonish by hearing
miraculous voice from God to him; His
heart beat fast.
Afterward, Airlangga says
again,
“ Yes, I will do peace to our
enemies; That was God of Wisnu’s
whishpering it to me, in just last minute.
Our bad disaster in my
wedding party event, actually had been written by God of Wisnu, as well as the
mob of men whose also have event to destroy our Palace.
Why did God do that ?
Because of the Law of Karma,
in which the punishment hit upon our King, because of the King has done a
mistake; That he had ever launched an attack against Sriwijaya Kingdom.
Therefore, if you have ever
done something helpful to some one else, then you will have been paid by God, some
goodness that make you being happy; But
on the other hand, you will be punished by God.
So, in my live, I will face
many bad event and also good event, that had been written in live scenario of
mine, whose the Master of that scenario is God of Wisnu.
Narottama exicited, “ You
have scenario of your live event; That’s wonderful. I want to know, what the next event would
appear on you then ? As if it’s a book,
I want to read the next page.”
“ That is God’s secret, you
will never know what will happen in the next time of my live and your live too.
But the important thing is, God
can be able to change our fate, by rewritting one’s scenario, if he asking, in
his praying.”
Narottama keep silent for
thingking the religious matter; He just
listen, but its hard to understand.
Narottama comments, “ Master,
you are our King, but you look like a Priest of Hindu. Your saying and your words is so wise and
beautiful that Priest usually using it.
Master ! Remember that you are a King in war against
Sriwijaya !”
“ I knew Narottama, that I am
a King, then I have my responsibillity to save our Kingdom.
When I was in Bali, my
parents ask me want to be a Priest. Then they send me into school for Priest in
Pure Besakih. The lesson of eliminating
grudge and anger was my interested. Now
I have to eliminated my grudge and anger; I try by remembering that lesson,
then I have done successfuly.”
Afterward, Narottama asks, “ Very
good !; Any way,... where we go now ? “
“ We want to go to deep
forest of Vanagiri ( now Wonogiri ) I
want to be hermit at there”
“ Sir, remember you are a
King, who have responssibility to save our Country.
You are a King, not a Priest. The people of Medang have been waitting your
action, up until then !
You can’t just keep silent in
the forest, by then you can rebuild your father in law’s Kingdom.
That is impossible think of
you. You will never ! Remember that !”
“ Narottama,listen to me
!
Iknew that I am a King who must
fight in a battle field, to chase our enemies.
I promise you, that I will
attend in front line, in the battle field.
Listen to me! That every event in your life has been
written by God.
God said to me that you can’t
change your fate. You will never change
your fate, except God allow and assist you to change it, remember that !
But if you have asked God in
your pray, then God will change your fate; God will rewritte your scenario of
your live event, toward happyness of good living. So I will do !
That’s what I mean, that I will be hermit in forest
of Vanagiri. Hoping God would have been
neared to me, then he can change my fate, toward happyness with my people.
Remember, just God will help
us, no one !
Since we just both left
behind; We both, have been left alive by Sriwijaya soldiers “
Narottama keep silent, he
thought concerning Airlangga saying, that our Kingdom as a paralize sick man,
in which can't be able to move his legs and arms.
“ Now, I can understand ,
that just God who has power for change everything in this World, included our
fate.”
" Thank you Narottama.
Any way, I want to ask you,
to consolidate our people, to become a solid power of people; The people of
Medang. Tell them, that the spirit of
King Dharmawangsa still alive between the people of Medang. Call also the entire soldiers who have desertion,
gather them, make them a good Army of
our Kingdom. I am as a King of them,
will attend in front of line, in war battle against Sriwijaya. But not now.”
“ Thank you Sir !
Now I believe God will assist
our struggle. What’s your effort to ask
God, is unreal, but I believe it will prove in the next event. Thank you Sir.”
Chapter 2
Medang Kingdom in East Java
was a power Kingdom that had ever launch an attack against Sriwijaya Kingdom in
Sumatra. The ruler was King Dharmawangsa
Teguh.
There was Princess as sister
of The King, named Princess Mahendradatta .
She was pretty; by then King Dharmawangsa has plan to marry off her with
King Udayana Warmadewa of Bali Kingdom.
That marriage has a political reason, toward association between the two
Kingdoms ; Medang and Bali Kingdom.
Unfortunately, Mahendradatta
was going to have a baby, or pregnant.
She has a secret lover that suppose as the father of the baby.
How could King Udayana want
to accept her as his wife ? That was the
problem of Kingdom Family. The condition
of Princess with her pregnant, have to
be kept as a secret; Hoping King Udayana could accept Mahendradatta as his
wife.
But, The King Udayana still didn’t
know what has happen.
King Dharmawangsa approachs
Princess’s lover, and ask him to go away, leaving Mahendradatta; Therefore Princess has broken hearted, by losing
her lover. But, for the sake of Kingdom, she didn’t want to make protest.
King Dharmawangsa and his
secretary as well as all of his staff,
work hard to make their mission could running well, smootly; Especially,
the problem of Mahendradatta’s pregnancy.
How Mahendradatta could be accepted by The
King as his wife ?,
Even though she has pregnant. That was central point of problem.
They have sent a delegation
to Bali, to discuss with their partner, concerning the marry off.
At last, the ship of
Mahendradatta has disembarked, following wave of many hands of Kingdom Family
and friends. The Priests pray ask God
to make Mahendradatta have good performance to establish her mission and
Kingdom mission too.
Some one spread flowers into
the sea shore, follow praying to God, ask God help her in Kingdom’s mission.
Mahendradatta also prays,”
Goddess in Nirvana, please help me to success my mission and also Kingdom’s
mission. Please make him, get his willing to love me; Then I will love
him too. Please make us in unity of an
happy family.”
She didn’t reveal her problem
to Goddess, that she was in pregnant.
But God has already known better about her problem; Hoping God will help
her in this crucial problem.
There were two military ships
escorting, with full of soldiers, for saving The Princess. That was also
Dharmawangsa effort to make success his mission. Hoping the two Kingdoms can be ally.
King Udayana comes in the harbor
to accept his lover. He admire
Mahendradatta, when he see his partner for the first time. “ Beautiful woman,
Thank You God !”
King Udayana hug her in his
arms, “ Welcome to Bali, I love you for the first time I saw you.”
“ Yes me too “
Every body cheer up,
especially the Medang’s delegation.
Every body happy in that harbor.
The wedding party conducted
in the Bali Palace, for every one could come.
King Udayana was so happy that he has invited every Citizen, to
celebrate his wedding.
That because of Mahendradatta
was a pretty woman, that he never thought, before.
Every day has passed away,
that the couple was in happyness.
Until the critical moment has
come when The King Udayana Warmadewa saw his wife’s body. Her body swicth, as if Mahendradatta has
pregnant five Months.
Then The King reveal his
option, “ Darling, seems to me that you have your pregnant in five Month or
more. Do you have your pregnant before
you came to my place ? “
Mahendradatta not answer yet,
she kept silent, since she knew already that she was wrong, not telling her
pregnant before. So, her husband must be
angry, even would be very angry.
Again The King asks, “ If its
right, shall I must angry to you ? Can I
angry to you ? “
Mahendradatta has a little
crying, answers, “ You have your right being angry to me. Yes I am wrong. I knew that I am a dirty
woman beside you.
Frankly I have to say, that I
have my baby in my whom, but not because of you; That because of another man.”
The King was shock and disappointed.
Then, in his mind, there is a
discussion concerning bad and good attitude of King Dharmawangsa.
He thought, “ How could
Dharmawangsa has sent a widow in pregnant to me ? Did he want to make me shame
? I can’t believe it. I am sad and disappointed, now.
But, Mahendradatta is my
wife, the pretty wife; I really in love
with my wife, what ever she got; What ever she would be, now.
Please Udayana, don’t be
stupid. How could you will leave your
pretty wife. Think twice !
I knew how King Dharmawangsa
has many effort to marriage his sister with me.
I suppose because his sister was in pregnant. That was the black side, that he must hide to
me.
So What was his purpose by
his mission to marry off his sister with me ?
Might be to make me shame ?
No !, No !, No !
He wants to make the two
Kingdoms ally. And make the two
communities could live side by side in happyness and prosperous.
Yes, that was the right
answer.
So please be calm and don’t
be angry to your wife !
So, King Dharmawangsa ! You have a good idea to make both Kingdoms to
become ally, so I will say thank you. I
will forget your bad mistake to send a widow to me, to be my wife; even I will
say thank you to you, because of she is really lovely.
I will pretend that I didn’t
know about his mistake.
Please Udayana, actually you
are a King with responsibillity to your people, not to your family. Think about that ! Your people is number one, not your family!”
After keep silent for a long
times, The King says to his wife,
“ No, I don’t want being
angry to you. What the use of anger ?
Even I want to say to my son
or daughter,..... Hi welcome to my family; You are part of my family, welcome
home son or daughter.”
Mahendradatta cries loudly, “
Oh my darling, you are really God of Wisnu, not a human. How could you don’t want angry to me, even
though I am a dirty woman on beside you ? “
“ Hi Listen to me !
The beautiful foetus in your
whom is a holy creature of God; What ever who the father is.
So I will accept him or her as my son or
daughter; Because of I devoted to you, with true love.”
“ So, what can I do to pay
your kindness ? “
“ Nothing ! But Just keep it as a secret in your
pass experience tightly ! Dont tell it to me, more even to some one else.
Do you promise me ? “
“ Of course I do promise you.
“
Mahendradatta hug her husband
with affection. Now she relief, as if the
heavy burden on her back has gone away.
The foetus in her belly
moving, as if he knows that his mother was in the mood of happyness.
After six Months, the baby
was delivered, in good condition and the mother too.
The baby is male; Father, King Udayana gave name ‘Sri
Lokeswara’
People of Bali cheer in
happyness. The priest pray in Pure to
say thanks to Goddess.
But many people give their
opine concerning the baby. Some says,
the age of pregnancy too short; might be the Queen has been alredy pregnant,
before she come to Bali.
May be The King marry with a
widow. And so on.!
How pity Sri Lokeswara, that
every body (as if) reject his arrival on Earth.
People also talk about his
mother, Mahendradatta; That she was a
widow in pregnant. Our King has married with a widow.
Even, an artist has made
story with title ‘Rangda’ ( Widow); Told about widow in bad attitude,
embodiment of Betari Durga ( Bad female God ).
The tale of story still play in public theatre, up until now.
Sri Lokeswara grew up in
healthy condition, until being an handsome young man. Both, father and mother love him very much.
Mahendradatta has idea to
separate him from his little brother; It was an important rule, that Just one
Prince stay in a Kingdom. If Sri Lokeswara
will stay in Bali, then he could have fought against his brother, to seize the
Throne; Then might be a civil war could be erupted.
Therefore, Sri Lokeswara have
to move to Watugaluh City, to The Palace of his uncle exactly.
Mahendradatta call on his
son, as well as her husband too; To discuss concerning it.
Mahendradatta says to her
son, “ Hi my son, I have idea for you to go moving, to Watugaluh City. Your uncle, King Dharmawangsa also has
responsibillity to take care of you.”
“ Why ? Is there something wrong with me, that both
of you dislike me, because I am a naughty boy, may be ? “
“ No !, No !, Believe me, we love you, you are a nice boy.
Now, you are a young adult,
that you have to look for a job. In East
Java, so many career waiting you. You
can be a farmer, a merchant, a soldier, or a King; Everything that you want to, we would agree
with you.”
His Father, King Udayana
says, “ Yes I agree with your Mom, if you want to be a King in Medang Kingdom;
It is Great ! “
“ Thank you Pa and Mom; Your saying concerning my career as a King,
is praying to God, then God heard your praying about me; I grateful to all of
you.
Actually, I am sad would
being separated with you; I feel happy,
since you have spoiled me.
Shall I must go, Mom ? ”
“ I just suggesting on
you,not forcing.
Hi my son, if you go to East
Java, then you will cross the sea, strait of Bali.
As if you jump across water
(water= Air) the sea water; By then, your name should be added with “Airlangga ”, then your name would be Sri
Lokeswara Airlangga.
Do you agree ?”
“ That is a beautiful name of
me; Sri Lokeswara Airlangga.
Thank you Mom, I agree with
you.”
“Thank you to you too.”
“ OK then, I will go ! When I will go ? “
“ If you agree, then I have
to prepare everything for your traveling.
I will write a letter to King Dharmawangsa for accepting your coming,
and for taking care of you.
I will escort many Bali
soldiers for guarding you, because of you are a Prince of Bali Kingdom.”
“ Wow, I am a Prince of Bali Kingdom ! That is Great ! “
King Udayana disagree with
his wife, then he hold her hand, and go into a room for telling something, “
What you mean by title of Prince on his name ?
I disagree with you !
The Prince just for his
brother, because of Sri Lokeswara, is not my son.”
“ Ofcourse I knew about
that. The next King will be King
Makatara, not Sri Lokeswara. Because Sri
Lokeswara is not your son, but Makatara.
My purpose to move him to
Watugaluh Palace, to avoid civil war that might would be erupted; Because of they would have fought to each
other to seize The Throne.”
“ Thank you very much; You knew already about that.”
“ I just want to say thank
you, on behalf of Sri Lokeswara; Because of you have acted as a real father,
that Sri Lokeswara didn’t know that he actually stepchild of you.”
“ Thank you also for you
too.”
Then Mahendradatta writte a
letter to her brother,The King Dharmawangsa.
Dear brother King Dharmawangsa Teguh,
I would like to bring about my son to face you, his name is
Sri Lokeswara Airlangga; For you can takegood care of him. Sri Lokeswara Airlangga looks like his
father, that you have ever known.
I am sorry for talking about his father; I just want to say that
Airlangga’s father is not King Udayana.
Now Airlangga came to Medang, looking for a job; And also
want to work for Glory of his Kingdom, that is Medang Kingdom, not Bali
Kingdom.
Bali Kingdom just for his brother.
Thank you so much that you have guided me to marry with my
belove husband; He really love me with true love. So I want you to know, that your option was
not wrong, King Udayana is the best one, as an husband.
King Udayana send greeting to you.
I as well as husband pray asking God for Glory of Medang
Kingdom, that people as well as their King would be happy and prosperous.

Then, Airlangga departed to
Tuban Harbor using a ship, escorting by other two ships with full of Bali
soldiers. The employee of The Kingdom
Palace have been waiting for Airlangga in the harbor, for a long times. They
use a carriage for transporting Airlangga go to Watugaluh City. That was a prety good action, by then
Airlangga was lucky.
Airlangga wonder, why did his
uncle be so nice to serve him ? Even
though he never met uncle before.
Airlangga asthonish by The
King nibble to receive him, in front of his Palace.
The King himself attended,
stood on the stairs infront of The
Palace. While many of his Ministry, as
well as military staffs, also standing at there; To honor Airlangga as well as
his adherent. Airlangga looks like a
King.
Airlangga thought, “ As if I
were a King, but not really.
Why The King have to give
honor to me likely a King ? I know the
reason ! Because of my parents want me to be a King of Medang Kingdom; Then I
said, that parents’s willing, was also praying to God for me to be a King.
Now, its have proved !
Really ? Oh Airlangga, please don’t be proud ! That
could make you be shame. “
The King hug his nephew, as
if Airlangga is his son.
A young lady came aproach Airlangga, “ I am
Princess Dewi Anggraeni, welcome to Watugaluh !” She was so nice and prety also.
“ Thank you ! I am Airlangga, The Prince of Bali Kingdom; Nice
to meet you.”
The King says, “ Airlangga,
Dewi Laksmi Anggraeni is my daughter.
She deliberate come just for you, to welcome you; Thank you Dewi !”
“ Wow ! Really ? How nice of you; You are a lovely lady
as Princess of Kingdom.”
“ Thank you Airangga.!”
“ Let us go into Palace,
since lunch meal has already served for you all “ The King said.
Airlangga happy and satisfied
since every body in Medang Kingdom were friendly, included The King himself and
also Parameswari ( The Kingdom Consort).
Airlangga gathering with
Kingdom Family eat their lunch meal.
The King asks, “ How your
mother and your father ? Are they OK
? Hoping no one got sick.”
Airlangga answers, “ They are
in good condition; Every body in Bali Palace were happy and healthy. Father send you warm greeting, also for all
of you.
Can I reveal my opine
concerning your Palace ? “
The King answers, “ Yes you
can “
“ I like it; It is a nice
place of you.”
“ What was the different with
your Palace in Bali ? ”
“ My home Palace is quite
smaller than yours.”
The King asks again, “ Do you
want to stay in our Palace, Airlangga ? “
“ Yes I want ! Thank you
uncle. I need a house to protect me from
sun shining and rainy. Can I live in this Palace uncle ? “
“ Yes you can, even for a long
times, if you needed. “
Airlangga keep quiet for a
moment, he wonder about word, ‘for a long times’. How nice is he ?.”
“ Uncle, I will stay just for
a short times.
If I have gotten a job, then
I will go off from this Palace.”
“ Airlangga ! Listen to me !, You have your job already.”
“ Uncle don’t be
kidding. I came in East Java, for

manage a beatiful Country like Medang Kingdom.”
“ A nephew of a King, isn’t
condition being a next King after him; It must be a son.”
Now The King quietest for a
long times; Nephew is not enough, but a son. That’s Airlangga opine. But The King have no son, just a daughter.
Afterward The King says, “
Will you be my son in law, by marrying my daughter.”
Airlangga answers, “ We have
another option, that the next King, may be a Queen, Queen Dewi Laksmi
Anggraeni.
So, I will ask you Dewi !, Will
you be a queen, for the sake of Medang Kingdom? “
Dewi Laksmi Anggraeni
surprise by Airlangga asking, “ No ! No ! No !
I don’t want to be a Queen. I am
not capable to manage a Country, mob of people,mob of soldiers, mob of workers and many others.
Please don’t !, I am just
a weak woman; I just can manage my
family, a husband and children.”
The King asks again, “ So I
ask you again, will you be my son in law,Airlangga ? “
Airlangga answer without
hesitate, “ Yes I want ! Thank you uncle ! “
The King was happy now, “
Thank you Airlangga ! Then you will be my son in law.
Hi wait a minute, I have to
ask my daughter, will you have Airlangga as your husband, my dear Anggraeni ? “
Dewi shame; Afterward, she
nooded, clue of agreeing.
Airlangga up right, aproaches
her, then hug her.
Airlangga says, “ I love you ! Will you be my wife ?

Then the couple hug and kiss,

heart, “ A week ago, my parents have just said that they want me to be a King
in Medang Kingdom. Now it’s proved
already, that I almost being a King; And also almost being a son in law of a

guided me, where ever I will go. Thank

Another mysterious experience
of mine is, how King Dharmawangsa honor me as a King, even though I am not ?
But, may be he certainly want
me to be a King. He has plan it for a long time, before.
A week later, the couple get
married in a wedding party, conducted in Palace Watugaluh.
We know that the party become
chaos, because of King Wurawari’s attacking,assisted by Sriwijaya soldiers.
That’s pity for every one,
espcially The King Dharmawangsa.
Chapter 3
The King of Sriwijaya who
have launch war attack to Medang, is King Sri Culamanivarmadewa.
By then, Kingdom of Medang
has been defeated, then become their colony; Many Sriwijaya soldiers deployed
in the land of Medang Kingdom.
The King has reasoning to
attack. Medang Kingdom was the Kingdom
that have ever launch an attack against Sriwijaya Kingdom, before. Therefore, Medang would become threatening
for Sriwijaya , in the next year. That
is the reason for attacking of King Sri Culamanivarmadewa.
The King has ally in Java
land; That is King Wurawari of Lwaram.
Sriwijaya soldiers as marine
troops, landed in sea shore secretly.
When the Watugaluh Palace has been celebrating a wedding party of
Airlangga and Dewi Laksmi Anggraeni, they launch war secret attacking, at
sudden.
Now, Airlangga has been in
the dense forest of Vanagiri, for hiding until Sriwijaya troops could go
off. Historian said, The King has been
waiting for a long times, almost 15 years in the forest; Until he has an
opportunity to attack Sriwijaya.
Airlangga must be patient,
besides he has no power to do war.
What news of King Wurawari
after he attacked Watugaluh Palace ? No
body told about him; Might be he has gone to Palembang City, since he afraid of
Airlangga’s revenge.
The King Airlangga also do
meditation, for nearing Wisnu God; He ask God could help him in his struggle.
In his dream,God of Wisnu
comes, aproaches him and stay in front of him. That’s for the second time God
appear in front Airlangga.
Airlangga says, “ God
Almighty, God The Greatest ; When we could
come out from this forest, then I will face our enemies in their Head Quarter ?
”
“ What for ? Do you want to swing your sword upon their
neck and kill them ? Seems to me you
still have your grudge and anger in your mind, do you ?
Even though you asked me to
throw-away those bad willing in your mind.”
“ God Almighty ! I ask your mercy ! No, I am not suppose to do that.
“ Remember ! There is a law that will never change in this
World; That is “Law of Karma”.
If you’ve done for helping
people and also giving charity to them, then you will have been paid back by
God; That is I, God of Wisnu. Then, you will be happy and satisfied.
But, on the other hand, you
will be punished by God.
You don’t have to ask me what
punishment would be ? I know it better
than you.
What kind of punishment would
hit upon your enemies ? That punishment
is not your bussines; But I will do and I know how to do. Remember that !
So, I ask you, for bringing a
white flag, when you will face your enemies; Just a white flag in your
hand. Then say to them, that you will
make peace with them, no more war.
Hoping they will have their
agreement for not fighting, but peace.
But if they didn’t want to
make peace, then you could have fought.
I will be on your side in
that time, then I will stop their weapon; Every weapon of theirs.
If they have surrendered and
asked your mercy to you, then you will shake hand and hug them. If possible, please get married with their virgin
girl.”
Afterward, God of Wisnu has
been gone from Airlangga’s dream.
God of Wisnu gave an awkward
suggestion that Airlangga could marry their virgin girl; That would be
impossible thing. Even just to shake
enemy’s hand, would be difficult to do; So, how to marry their virgin girl ?.
While Narottama has done his
duty, as King’s command to gather every component in community of Medang.
He has good result.
Ones, Narottama face the
King, “ Master ! I have gathered the entire soldiers of Medang, who has done
desertion before; To become a solid Army. “
“ Very good ! So, how much do you have ? “
“ Almost two thousand
soldiers and one Penyewu ( a commander who has more than one thousand soldiers
as subordinate.)
“ That was enough to face our
enemies. Because we want to make peace
not war.”
“ Master ! We want to fight, not to make friend !; We
will kill them or to be killed by them!
You always say the same word
for every time, peace, peace, peace.
Please Master, be realistic
! We are at war now !”
Narottama seems going to be
angry against his King.
“ Narottama ! Listen to me !
I will be your Commander at
war battle field; I will be in front of
line; and I will kill our enemies; I am not a coward soldiers.
But after the war ended, we
would see, there were many dead bodies lie spread on the battle field land;
Dead bodies of enemy and also of our friends.
Do you want to see the
horrible panoramic like that ?
For me, I don’t ! I am not
suppose to make war, but peace.
How it would be so nice, if
we could shake hands with our enemies, hug them, then discuss about our right
and their right. I think it would be
more realistic than that your idea, isn’t it ?
Listen to me !
I will face our enemies, then
I will do diplomatic talking with them.
If I failed in diplomacy
business to get near their willing, then we must stop the discussion. So, we
will fight them. In this critcal of
moment, we have to fight as your suggestion to me ! So, prepare your subordinate soldiers.”
Narottama has gleaming face
hearing his Master.
But not Airlangga, even he sad
to see Narottama be happy for fighting.
“ Narottama, again I will say
to you some thing that I knew you didn’t like, as if I were Priest, but not.
Please throw away your grudge
and anger in your mind; That command is a secret command from God Almighty of
Wisnu. I know You will ask me, when
God gave his command ?
I say, in my dream, and I
believe his coming was true and his spoken was true and right.
God has given his war
strategy of us; That I agree with his strategy; That is the best strategy toward
becoming the winner of war that we will face.
So, I command you, to tell
all your every soldier to know this command, ‘throw away your grudge and anger
in every mind of soldier’. God will give
punishment to every person in this World, who have sin and ever do mistake; We
never know what kind of punishment of God will be, that is God’s business
We will use our war strategy
from God, that is peace not war.”
“ Yes Sir, We will do your
command.”
In the mean time, many leader
of many communities came and report to King Airlangga in his place in the
forest. They will be loyalty of Medang
Kingdom and will help The King to rebuild The Kingdom. That is also Narottama’s good result.
Chapter 4
There was another big Kingdom
in South of India, name Chola Kingdom of Tamil.
Their territory cover all India, Ceylon and South East Asia; Then they move forward to defeat Kingdom of
Sriwijaya in Sumatra.
In the mean time, King
Airlangga still have been in Vanagiri forest, as Hermit.
The King of Chola Kingdom, is
Rajendra Chola I
He led his troops forward
until Palembang City, the center of Sriwijaya authority.
In the mean time, Sriwijaya
Kingdom was also big Kingdom, so the big war and bloody war also, was held in
Palembang City.
King Rajendra swing his
sword, kill every Sriwijayan and entering Sriwijaya Palace; He left many dead
bodies behind; The dead bodies of his own soldiers and also of his enemy
soldiers, then the Palace become horrible place, full of many dead bodies as victims
of war.
The King of Sriwijaya at that
time is, King Sangramawijayattunggadewa.
The King and his family had
being in The Palace, while the ememies troops had been coming to attack. The King Family could be able to escape of
war battle; Then they run away as refugees, to go off, out of their Country. They run away to Eastern territory.
Seems, the enemy troops have come little by little in silent moving,
then they launch sudden attack into Palace, without King
Sangramawijayattungadewa has been known before by his secret agent troops.
The King loose his King;s
dress, then go into battle war, fought bravely.
He used sword and spear. He was followed by many of his soldiers;
Fighting face to face against the Indian men.
That bloody war could not be
avoided.
Afterward, The King of
Sriwijaya had been caught alive by enemy soldiers. Then The King had been put into jail. That was the last King of Sriwijaya.
King Rajendra Chola move
forward, looking for King’s Siwijaya Family.
He want to catch the Princess
of Sriwijaya, name Princess Balium Flower (=Putri Bunga Balium) Balium flower is certain kind of Orchid
flower.
The King Chola has plan to
marry that Princess and her would become his concubine .
But, King’s family have
gone. They fail finding The Princess.
My Grandma have comment, “
That was ‘The Law of Karma’, that hit upon Sriwijaya Kingdom as their fate.
As we have known that Sriwijaya
troops have attacked Medang Kingdom, straight into Palace. Now, they had paid by the same way, as war
attacked straight into Palace by Chola soldiers .
Chola soldiers had done the
silent attack, straight into Sriwijaya’s Palace.”
My Grandma didn’t mention,
who will attack Chola Kingdom, then ?
Because Chola King must be
punished too, to obey Law of Karma.
Chapter
5
Sriwijaya ruled in Medang as
colonization ruler, has become weaker, because of their Country has been
attacked by King Rajendra Chola I.
That’s why Narottama bring
news to Airlangga that some military ships disembark from Tuban Harbor,
carrying many Sriwijayan soldiers, for going home to Palembang.
Airlangga gave opine, “
That’s clue, their Country has been attack;
Then they must fight against enemy who come to conquere their Country.
So, we can go out from this
forest; Then we can launch an attack to chase them away.!”
“ Very good ! Let us go to the war battle, now !” Narottama
enthusiastic to do war.
“ Not war, but peace. I said
again, peace, not war !
But if I fail in diplomacy to
near their willing, then we have to do war, OK ?”
“ Yes Sir; The Army will do
your command !, Hi friends of all Medang soldiers! We want to make peace, not
war !” Narottama gave his command.
Airlangga led his troops
toward Military Head Quarter of Sriwijaya.
He held a white flag in his hand.
The amount of his troops was almost two thousand soldiers. But the Sriwijaya soldiers , more than five
thousand soldiers.
In front of their HQ,
Airlangga wave his white flag and shouted, “ Hi Sriwijaya, we want to make
peace with you ! We want to shake hands
with you ! We don’t need bloodshed in
the battle field.”
No answering of enemy, then
Airlangga have to wait patiently. He
gave command to the soldiers to relax and rest for a while.
Norottama and his soldiers
wonder with Airlangga, their King; How a King led his troops to do war ? That
event have never happened in every Kingdom, that their King want to lead his
soldiers to make war; Kingdom always
instructed their Mahapatih.
Again Airlangga shouted; Now
his soldiers also shouted.
Surprised ! The enemy troops have surrounded Airlangga’s troops at sudden.
The enemies have their weapon
in their hands, bow and its arrow, directed to Airlangga; Ready to kill him !
No body know, how they come
at sudden.
His commander shouted, “
Surrender or die ! We can kill you easily; So, you must surrender !
Airlangga, gave his command
by sign of his hand,that was mean, drop every weapon on the ground, and hands
up.
Airlangga prays in his heart,
“ God of Wisnu, I knew that you are on my side now; So please help me !
I want you to become me
!
And I will have to become you.!
You can use my tounge to
speak facing our enemy.
You can use my muscle to
fight against our enemy.
Your spirit can come into my
body.”
That was supplication word
praying of Airlangga.
After his praying, Airlangga
become brave, as if God of Wisnu were Airlangga, but not.
He step forward near the
commander of Sriwijaya; On the other hand, the commander become afraid, as if
Airlangga were God, but not.
Airlangga says, “ Look, what
I held ? That is a white flag, clue of peace.
We want to make peace with you, not war.
Do you agree ? “
The commander of Sriwijaya
with moustache on his mouth and strong muscle on his hands, has become confuse
by Airlangga’s saying.
He thought, “ What The Medang
King ( Airlangga) want to ? Peace ?
He should have big anger to
me, since I have killed his King as well as all the people in their Palace,
when they celebrated the wedding party.
That must be a joke ! But not
funny at all”
The commander gazing his
assistance at distance, as if he ask, how to face this man ?
The assistance shake his
head, mean don’t know what can he do.
Every body wait, what will
the commander of Sriwijaya do ?
Seems The commander really
confuse and become stupid.
Afterward, the commander says,
“ Well, we also want to make peace, but without any condition. If you have forced us, to agree with your
condition, then we will fight you.”
Again Airlangga talk to his
God in his heart, “ Now, we will enter the critical moment that we must fight
against those enemies. Please help us,
to stop every weapon of theirs; Stop also their muscle to move their hands;
Stop also their willing to fight us ! “
Airlangga answers calmly, “
We want to ask you; But it is not a
condition as formaly.
Would you go home, leave our
land, peacefully ?
Again I want to say, that
just an asking, not a condition formaly.”
Again the commander didn’t
answer; He still thinking seriously, as if he has talked with God, not
Airlangga.
Afterward, the commander
says, “ If we don’t want to obey you, then what do you want to do with me ?”
Airlangga answers, “ We will
fight you !
Troops ! Take your weapon !
We must fight !
War ! War ! War !”
The soldiers of Sriwijaya
surprise,
They thought, “ How a small
troops want to fight against large troops like Sriwijaya’s ? That must be a stupid commander of Medang
Army.
We will be the winner
certainly.”
But infact, they just keep
silent not moving; It was strange
Again Airlangga give his
command, “ Attack ! Attack !”
The enemy soldiers still
didn’t react or moving; They look like an idiot man.
Afterward the commander of
Sriwijaya give his command, “ Shoot !”
The Sriwijaya Army, take
their weapon, put their arrow; and,...they stop, not to shoot.
As if the arrow was so heavy
, that they can’t lift it.
Airlangga and his troops stab
their blade to the enemies’s body easily; Then many war victims of Sriwijaya
lie down to earth,dead !
Sriwijaya soldiers didn’t
fight back, but they surrender; They allow themself to be stabbed, until death.
That was unusual event, that
make the commander become surprised and frustrated, “ What was going on ? That was miraculous event that I never find.
I have to stop it ! “
He run toward Airlangga, kneel
in front Airlangga, and says, “ Please give your command to stop your army; We
are surrender! Please stop them ! “
Airlangga command, “ Troops !
Stop your fought, and back to your line ! “
The soldiers back into their
line, leaving many dead bodies of Sriwijaya soldiers behind.
The other Sriwijayan help
their wounded friends.
No one got injured in
Airlangga’s troops.
The commander says, “Please
forgive us ! We surrender to you, hi
Great King of Medang !”
“ So, what do you want to do,
now ?”
“ Please release us, and we
will go home, as soon as possible.
Because we will fight again; There is another war battle in my own Country
.
Please give your praying for
us, to avoid dangerous moment in the next of war.”
“ It is too late for me to
pray, praying for you “
“ What you mean ?”
“ Because your enemy has
already come, to attacked your Country. Isn’ it ?”
“ Yes it’s true; That King
Rajendra Chola as well as his troops has come, and attack straight into our
Palace.”
“ Its too late; I said its
too late.
If you had come to us in
Vanagiri forest to make peace with us, then King Chola would have had not
coming to you.
I believe the Law of Karma.
Your bad event of war
attacking that hit upon you now, have correlation with the law of karma.
I have been waiting for you, as
long as 15 years, in the forest of Vanagiri, for you can saying sorry to us.
You should come to meet us,
for eliminating the law of karma.
But, you are so proud that
you didn’t want to meet us, as the looser.
Do you believe what I say.
Do you believe about Karma
Law ?”
“ No I don’t !.”
“ Now, forget it all !
So my friend, good bye to you
!
Greeting to your King any
way.
Good luck !”
“ Thank you so much for your
kindness.”
Airlangga bow, approachs him,
lift his arms,then hugs the enemy.
Then Airlangga says, “ We
mercy you for your brutality attack into our Palace, while we have been
celebrating our wedding party.
Hoping, the law of karma will
not hit upon you again.”
The commander drop his tears
from his eyes; Actually, a soldier not
allow to cry; But he can’t to stop his emotion.
Airlangga says again, “ Will
you declare, on behalf of your Kingdom, that Sriwijaya has surrendered now ? “
“ Yes I will; We are on behalf of Sriwijaya Kingdom has
been defeated and surrender. “
Medang soldiers cheer up,
HURRAY ! HURRAY ! “
“ Will you leave us ?,
Will you, let us being
freedom ? “
“ Yes I will “
Again the Medang soldiers
cheer up.
Afterward, the Sriwijayan
Army go off, until Tuban Harbor and sail back to Palembang.
Chapter
6
Sriwijaya Kingdom has been
defeated by Chola Kingdom; Their King, King
Sangramawijayattunggadewa has been captured then put into jail. While King’s Family, could be able to escape,
run away as refugee. They are, Princess
Balium Flower, her mother as well as twenty soldiers of Palace Guards.
As we already knew, that
Princess Balium has been run after by King Rajendra Chola I;
He want Princess to be his wife, as concubine.
But her guards protected;
Keep watching every intruder from Chola Tamil man.
The refugee came to Tanjung
Tumasik, stay two night at that place.
They departed again to Tanjung Pura in West Borneo. The place still not save for Princess, then
they go again to Sunda Kelapa Harbor.
But the harbor has been
occupaid by Tamil Chola troops; By then the refugees go off, to Eastern. Until they came to Surabaya, Medang Kingdom
territory.
They landed in Surabaya sea
shore, then they tied the ship in the forest of Bakau Tree.
The ship covered by leaves,
then they went into forest in hurry.
Mean while,Airlangga as well
as his troops went home with glory as the winner.
Narottama asks, “ Master !
Why so easy to defeat Sriwijaya troops ? Even too easy . Why ?“
“ Because we used God’s strategy;
That we make peace, not war.”
“ What you mean ? I didn’t see God in the battle field.”
“ You will never see God, but
you can feel that God is there, even God is on your side now!
If you didn’t believe God,
then God will never being with you, then you will fight alone against Sriwijaya
troops . After that, you would be lose,
then Sriwijaya would be win.
In our stuggle, we believe
God; I insist you to believe God.
by then God was there, and even God assist us.
You will ask me, what kind of
assist that God has given to us ?
You have known with your war
experiences; How Sriwijaya soldiers become idiot, that they let us to stab our
blade to their body, easily.”
Again Narottama asks, “Master,
did you see God, when God make Sriwijaya soldier become idiot. ? I want to know how the way he did ? “
“ No, I didn’t see him; But I can feel that God has worked hard to
make all enemy soldiers become idiot. I
don’t know how the way of him to do.”
Narottama ! You almost didn’t
believe God, but I insist on you,hardly; Do you remember ?
We understand you, because we
all have grudge and anger, included me, myself. I could understand you, when
you suggested on me, to do revenge and attack against Sriwijaya.
But on the other hands, God
want us to make peace.
God will not assist us, if we
have grudge and anger in our heart. By
then God’s war strategy would be fail.
Intentionally, I show my
action in front of God, to hug my enemy.
And even I said to them, to
mercy them upon the murdering people in my wedding.”
Narottama says, “ Yes that
event of you’ve done, has made me hurt and pain;
How can you mercy them, our
bad and sadistic enemy ? I can’t believe what you have done.
Master, you must think about
our disaster event, that almost people whose attended in the party wedding of
you, dead stabbing, included our King.
Again I want to say, that was
horrible attack of war, brutal and sadistic.
If your saying of mercy, just
in your heart, then I could understand.
But in fact, you have said it directly to our enemy !
Frankly, I as well as all my
friends could not be able saying mercy to enemy, like you do.
We conclude, that you must be
God, not a human; But in fact you are a human.”
Airlangga keep quiet; He knows
that his subordinate actually being angry to him.
Afterward he answers, “
Narottama listen to me ! Not just you,
but every body also has grudge and anger; Included me.
But, in my dream I have ever
met God of Wisnu.
In my dream, God of Wisnu
come to me; He tauch me concerning Law of Karma.
Law of Karma between Medang
and Sriwijaya.
I asks God Wisnu, “ God, will
you give hard punishment to Sriwijaya men.? You are so powerful that you can
give hard punishment to our enemy.
Please do it !”
God of Wisnu answer me, “ You
don’t have to, for teaching me, how to do punishment to some one who have made
mistake in the World; I know better than you.
So, you just keep on watching what will have been happened then ? Remember, Law of Karma is my business, not
you !”
That was God of Wisnu’s
saying.
So ! What have happened later
on ?
King Rajendra Chola launched
war attack, straight into their Palace; That was a horrible attack too, the
same way as Sriwijaya has ever done upon Medang.
So, do you feel strange by those
events ? I too !
Yes it is strange, ... that
was God’s business, not us.
We agree with you, God !
I know, you never sleep.
I will give some comments
concerning those Karma.
If Sriwijaya men had come to
us in Vanagiri forest for saying sorry, after they have just done their brutal
murdering, then God would have had given mercy too, to Sriwijaya men
Therefore, might be the King
Chola would have never had attacked Sriwijaya.
If we still have grudge and
anger in our heart; and by then we have
launched war attack to Sriwijaya Head Quarter, then we would have been
loosed. Might be, I would have been
death as well as most of all my soldiers. We would have no meeting as we have done now.
Again I want to repeat God
saying, that Law of Karma is God’s business, not you !
So, I have to depress for
eliminating my emotion of my grudge and
anger, for sake of Medang Kingdom,
toward the winner in this war.
I am not God, but that was
our stuggle in the battle war, that Gos have assisted.
Therefore, to eliminate
grudge and anger in your heart is important thing, toward the winner in this
stuggle.”
Every body of soldiers
quietest, included Narottama. Even some
of them drop his tears from his eyes.
Some one whispered to his
friend, “He isn’t a King, but Priest of Hindu. Because he always talk about
God.
His friend answers, “ Yes he
is; He can be able to talk with God of
Wisnu; Its strange .”
His friend says, “ May be he,
himself is truly God, who come to Earth, who knows ? “
Airlangga speaks formaly in
front his soldiers, “ Gentlemen, I want to say thank you to all of you. That you really brave soldier, toward
succesfull being the winner.
I knew you have work hard;
And you also Narottama.
In this event, I would be
glad to elect Narottama to be Prime Ministry of Medang Kingdom.
And you, Penyewu Narmandewa,
you will be Mahapatih of Medang Kingdom.
All of my soldiers will be
given bonus beside the salary.
All soldiers cheer up, “
Hurray ! Hurray ! Hurray ! Viva King Airlangga ! Viva King Airlangga!”
Airlangga says again, “ Last
but not least, we must say thank you to our God, Wisnu God.
I knew you, Narottama ! You will say, that God of Wisnu didn’t
attend in this meeting.
So, I ask you to make temple,
that I give its name Temple Belah.
Please craft a statue of God when he ride Garuda (bird Garuda). Wisnu has been riding Garuda when he was
assisting us in the war battle.
But, that just my
imagination, not reallity.

More even, the miraculous war event, has become issue to be discussed in
every where.
Airlangga King become popular
in large people.
At last, people have
concluded that King Airlangga is embodiment of Wisnu God in Earth.
Until in one occasion, a man
asks directly to his belove King, “ Hi King, are you God ? “
The King Airlangga answers, “
No I am not ! I am a human, just like
you “
“ Why did you can defeat
large enemy’s troops ? Every body told
me that you used power of magic in your battle, is it true ? “
“ Yes it is, but the power
has come from God, not me. I pray in my
heart, to ask God to help me in the critical moment of war. Seems to me, God agree with me,then God
helped me as well as my troops.
Therefore, we can defeat
enemy more easy, because God has helped us while we fought.
That’s all, no strange in my
case.”
“ So, if I pray and ask God,
do God will help me too ? ”
“ Yes, I hope so. But we have to have good condition, that you
have never spent grudge and anger in your heart; Even more grudge and anger
against your enemy.”
“ Hi King, seems to me that
you look like a Priest of Hindu.
Actually, you are my belove
King, but also a Priest of Hindu.
That’s amazing ! “
The King has declare himself
as human, just human, not God.
The King moved his Palace to
Kahuripan City, then he declare to his Parliament that the name of ‘Medang’
must be change to ‘Kahuripan’, now become Kingdom of Kahuripan.
Because Medang Kingdom has
been ruined by Sriwijaya.
Airlangga also keen with
agriculture, especially planting rice.
He learn and learn how to plant rice.
He himself go down into Padi field (sawah) to plant rice, come a long
with farmers.
That was just one of King that has ever been in
Java; How a King planted rice in sawah
(Padi field) together with farmers.
The King has allowed to every
people to chose his faith or religious, Hindu or Budha or other religious. Many temple of Hindu and Budha grow in every
where.
But King was an Hindu.
Chapter 7
Every people in Kahuripan
City discussed issued their King as God of Wisnu. Now the issue spreading more
larger, covered all over the
country. Even though King Airlangga has
declare him self that he isn’t God, but just a human.
The King was aware of resistance
by Hindu Priest. That issue was
important thing that must be made clear. That could become chaos, then make
rebellion, threatening his Kingdom.
The King aproaches all of the
Hindu Priest in Kahuripan Kingdom, for asking them to discuss the topic of
discussion, “how a man could become God ?”
And he also declare to them,
that he isn’t God.
The expert of religious as
Priest and Monk come gathering to discuss on religy topic ‘ How a man could
become God ? “
The Priest conclude at the
end of their discussion, that a human will never be God.
But they still believe that
God sometimes could come to Earth and make support to human; That what was
Airlangga has in his experience, when he fought in war battle against
Sriwijaya’s troops.
They agree that Airlangga
isn’t God
Airlangga now can relief
hearing the result of their discuss.
People still believe that
Airlangga is God of Wisnu, or might be son of Wisnu God. Then they discuss for themself, concerning
Airlangga is God. But of course, that
must be a secret discussion of theirs.
Chapter 8
Once, a guard soldiers who
has duty to watch sea shore, found a Sriwijaya ship landed in beach of
Surabaya. The ship was hided by tree and
leafs. No body in the ship, seems they
have gone and run away into forest.
The soldiers gave reportation
to King Airlangga, “ You’re Majesty, I found Sriwijaya ship in the beach of
Surabaya. No body in there. The ship still on the beach, hiding.”
King Airlangga take important
this case. He has his bad experience
with Sriwijaya attack straight into Watugaluh Palace, before.
“ How many the ship on there
? “
“ Just one ship “
“ Oh, if you said just one, no
problem; Might be a broken ship or loose his direct navigation. But we must see that ship.”
Narottama asks, “ Is that
important for you to go.?”
“ Yes that is important, I
don’t want to hear that Sriwijaya’s troops has landed silently, as they had
ever done before.”
The King, Narottama as wellas
some soldiers, went to Surabaya, riding horses.
The Sriwijaya soldiers
usually walking; They never using horse as their transportation. Their troops is marine troops, not cavalery
troops. Therefore, they would not have
gone, they still at there.”
The King inspects the ship,
searching the member; He concluded that the ship has been left by the owner,
may be a week ago.
The soldiers search track of
enemy, found many tree has been broken by some one; And finally they found the direct
of enemy has gone. They have gone into
forest.
King Airlangga follow by his
guard, comes nearing many tents. Some
men with sword in his hand each, thretening Airlangga.
They says, “ If you come
near, then we will kill you !”
King Airlangga says calmly,”
Welcome to Kahuripan Kingdom; If you
want to stay in our land as a friend, then we welcome you. But if you want to steal or to rob our
belonging, then we will chase you away.”
The leader of those men,keep
silent ; He thought, ”He looks like a King, because of his dress as a King’s dress; The way he talks, is a Nobel man talk; He
talk politely.”
After ward, he aproaches King
Airlangga, kneel, and says, “ Hi Great King, we have come to your Country as a
friend; We aren’t robber.
Would you please to give your
mercy that we have come without telling you before.”
“ No problem !
What your purpose is ? “
“ Just want to hide, because
our enemy want us to die.
We are Sriwijaya soldier who
loose at war against Chola Kingdom.”
Not so long, a young lady
comes out from one’s tent. She uses tear
rob, dirty face, knotty hair and many other dearth. She kneel in front King Airlangga.
She says, “ Please save us
! Please save us ! Just you can save us. The Chola Army looking for us then they want us to die; They want to
slaughter us.”
The leader mention to The
King, “ Yes Master, she is Princess Balium Flower; She is our Princess, The Princess of
Sriwijaya Kingdom.”
The King bow to her and lift
her arms, “ You can’t to kneel in front of me, because of you a Princess. So, let us go home to our Palace and be
relax; No enemy of yours in Kahuripan Kingdom.”
Short story, Princess Balium
was in Palace; She wash and use a Princess dress and parfum too. Now she become a pretty young lady, as she
was usually.
The mother of Princess, as
Consort of King Sriwijaya was also included in this mob.
They ate delicious meal in a
beautiful Palace. They are happy and
relief, after hungry and frustration.
They have same thought that The King was
generous and kindness.
After that, they face The
King Airlangga in front his Throne.
Her mother says first, ” We
have to say thank you for all of your kindness, Hi Great King. That’s all, since we have nothing for giving
you, as a valueable thing.
We are Sriwijaya Kingdom
Family, have to become refugees because of war;
Yes we know, that we are a pity family, now. Even we asks you, Hi Great King, to protect
us, since the war still going on, up until now.”
“ No problem ! Every body in
this World should help and to be helped to each other,isn’t it? Therefore, we
are so please to help you all. We hope
God also will help you, as we have helped you now.”
Princess Balium says, “ Hi
Great King, who are generous and kindness, may I stay in your Palace, just for
a moment please ! “
“ Of course you may; Until the war has ended.”
“ When the war would be ended
? Seems to me it would be so long; Even
The King Rajendra Chola still run after us.
The King want me to be his concubine among many others of his concubine. So please protect us !
King Airlangga value The
Princess as a pretty and attractive woman, he thought, “ She is beautiful young
lady. Her lovely should make her happy,
but not in reallity.
In fact, The King of Chola
run after her, because of her lovely.
Why me could make her happy ?
Why not ? I confess to my self, that I
fall in love with her.”
After a while King says, “ If
so, then you can live in this Palace forever.
Believe me that this Palace would be save for you and your mother too.
Will you live forever in this
Palace ?”
“ What ? Forever live in your
Palace ? What you mean ? “
King Airlangga not answering,
but gazing her mother; As if he ask her mother, will you allow me to marry your
daughter ? “
Mother know what King’s clue;
Then she whispers in Balium’s ear, “ King ask you, if you like to be his wife,
he would be happy. So, ... will you ? “
Princess’s face become red
and flushing, she just look at below .
After a while she says, “ Yes
I will “
The King heard what Princess
said, yes I will.
The King aproaches Princess,
hug her and says, “ I love you ! “
The King so enthusiastic that
he didn’t shame to hug his partner affectionately.
Princess also says, “ I love
you too.”
The King Airlangga says, “ No
woman on beside of me, just you ! Then,
you will be Consort of King or Prameswari of Kahuripan Kingdom.”
“ Really ? “
“ Yes you are “
Every body in that room clap
and cheer, clue that they agree with Their King.
Included the Sriwijaya
soldiers as Princess guard, they also happy,.... but also strange.
Why did they feel strange ?
How King Airlangga was so easy
to forget the war disaster, that they and their friends had ever murdering King
Dharmawangsa and his family, as well as many people in the wedding party of
Airlangga. That matter is hard to
believe !
More even, they have killed
also wife of Airlangga, as Bride in the wedding Party.
Again, it’s hard to believe
that King Airlangga has given mercy to his enemy.
They feel strange and also
shamefull; Because they look like beggar now, ask food and protection to the
generous King, King Airlangga.
Again The King Airlangga says
to his people in there, “ Now I declare that I will be son in law of The King
of Sriwijaya. Therefore Kingdom
Kahuripan has becoming companion Kingdom with Sriwijaya Kingdom. I declare that no more war between Kahuripan
and Sriwijaya Kingdom.”
Mother says, “ Thank you very
much, Hi my son in law,The Geat King of Java, King Airlangga.
I want you to know that the
real name of Princess, is Dharmaprasadottunggadewi,
beside her friendly name is Princess Balium Flower ( Putri Bunga Balium).
Her father name is King
Sangramawijayatunggavarman, now he has been put into jail by our enemy.
In this occasion, I would be
glad to announce also, on behalf of Sriwijaya Kingdom, that we have accepted
King Airlangga of Kahuripan Kingdom as our son in law; Then no more war between
the two Countries, but peace.”
The audiences cheer up, “
HURRAY ! HURRAY ! HURRAY !
No more war but peace ! “
Princess Balium cries since she
happy, then she hug King Airlangga affectionately. She forget her action has done in front of
the public and even in a Palace too.
A week later on, the wedding
party has conducted in the Kahuripan Palace.
The Bride and Groom were happy.
The party was merry and beautiful event.
But the important matter is safety.
Therefore, the Palace guard in
sure, that no one Chola soldiers as intruder has come to catch Princess Balium.
King Airlangga was tolerant
by every customs of his wife, as Sumatran.
The King try every meal of Balium’s cooking; He always say good or
delicious.
The King also no problem with
wife religy as Budha. Even The King
build a Budha Temple, that name is ‘Sriwijayasmara Temple’. Because he want to show to his wife, that he
has no problem with Budha.
All of he has done, because
of love; The King really in love with Princess Balium.
Closing
King Airlangga was a famous
King in Java land, because people believed that The King was embodiment of
Wisnu God.
There were so many
peculiarity that people suppose The King looks like God.
He was a wise King that want
to help every body which needed.
He keen to every activity of
people; For instance, he teach the farmer how to plant rice in Padi field. He, together with the farmer, make dam of
river to irrigated the paddy field.
He included and assisted the
author of Empu Kanwa, who make book of ‘Kakawin Arjuna Wiwaha’ and many others
book.
He make many temple and allow
his people be religious every religy what ever he want to
And so many others
peculiarity and advantegous for large people.
Therefore, the people have
been gathering to discuss and reveal what was the secret rumor in the life
living of their King.
At the end of their
discussion, they found many clues of Airlangga, that they could say Airlangga is God, or son of God, or embodiment
of God.
The first clue is, the answer
of question, who is father of Airlangga.
Then we should ask Queen Mahendradatta, who is her secret lover ? But, she don’t want to tell to every one,
because her husband has asked her, for not to tell.
In fact, that the secret
lover of Mahendradatta has disappeared at sudden, or “Moksa” as Hindu saying. They concluded the secret lover was God of
Wisnu himself; Therefore Airlangga is son of God.
Why the secret lover of
Mahendrdatta could be able to come into Watugaluh Palace, even though the door
of Palace have been locked.? No one of
Palace guard has confessed that he has ever allowed some one to enter the
Palace, without King’s permit.
Why the secret lover could
come to copulate with Mahendradatta in the Palace, without Kingdom Family has
found them.?
They also concluded that he
must be Wisnu God.
The Second clue is, the
answer of question, why Airlangga could be escaping and being survive ?. In the
bad event of his wedding party ?
Even though, he as Groom sat on beside of his wife as Bride ?
Actually, The Bride was not
survive; She was death, kill by enemy; Then The Groom should be death also, but
not.
The answer is, because God of
Wisnu come down to Earth and save his son.
The third clue is, Why did
King Dharmawangsa eagerly promoting Airlangga as heir authority of The King in
Medang Kingdom?
The answer is, because King
Dharmawangsa has known, who is really the secret lover of Mahendradatta; That
is God of Wisnu himself, who come to Earth, then become father of
Airlangga. That is why he disappear at
suden or Moksa.
Therefore, King Dharmawangsa
Teguh have an interested to elect Airlangga to be a King.
The Fourth clue is, Why
Airlangga want to give mercy to his enemy, Sriwijaya Army. It was hard to believe, how Airlangga could
be able to eliminate his grudge and anger ?
The answer is, Airlangga must
be son of Wisnu God.
That was their opine
concernig Airlangga.
