Wulansari Invasion

Chapter 1
Akuwu Wengker introduced his guest, Penyewu Jaran Edan, “Ladies and Gentlemen, to day we have a guest from Medang City. Here they are Penyewu Jaran Edan. He brought news, concerning the murderer.Jaran, would you speak for us?”
“For the first, I want to greet my superior, Patih Kebo Ireng as well as Princess Putri Sekarpandanwangi. Akuwu,thank you very much for you allow me to speak.I brought the important news concerning the killer. Actually the killer was not Akuwu Wengker; therefore, we apologized to you Akuwu that we had made mistake for attacking Jati Wengker.
Who was the killer?
The killer was a soldier of Wulansari. They had been camping at north border since three years ago. You asked me, how he could enter the Palace?
He could enter the Palace because he had privilege as Princess’s lover. He was Sora Mahisa. He was also a soldier of Wulansari.”
Suddenly, Princess shouted, “You are liar! How dare you Jaran! I want you to know that my lover was Medang Citizen. He was son of Demang Kimarachandra, Chief of Kedungsongo Village.”
The audience uproar; they discussed that matter to each other. The sound looks like bee’s sound. The majority provided Princess, but they wondered how a lover had killed his own father in law.
Princess Putri Sekarpandanwangi was very sad as if every body had blamed on her. There were so many problems of Kingdom as King’s murder, civil war and the suspected killer of King; it was trully Nationality problems, not her problem.
Suddenly, a mob of Medang soldiers came into balairung. They had wounded all over their body each and even their blood had dropped on the floor. Their custom tore and dirty.
“Master, we lost at war; they had attacked on us at sudden when we were not ready to combat. They had killed our people, burnt our house and even burnt our Palace. Medang City had been burnt.”
“Who was your enemies and where are they now?”
“They are Wulansari soldiers; they came from northern and now they were at Kedungsongo village. They would come here at Jati Wengker in three days from now on.”
Akuwu Wengker had responsibility to defense his Country. Now he was the leader of Medang Kingdom.
He spoke, “Ladies and Gentlemen, let us defense our Country as hard as we could. Now the enemies had come to conquer our Country. They are Wulansari Kingdom from northern.
You had heard my friend that had said I am not guilty but Princess’s lover. He was a soldier of Wulansari Kingdom. Let us unite our power and fight.
How do you Kebo Ireng? Will you help us to fight that enemies?”
“Of course I will. This Kingdom is my Kingdom. I have responsibility to defense this Country.”
“Thank you very much. How do you Princess Putri Sekarpandanwangi? Will you help us to fight against your lover’s Country? What was Country that you want to provide?Where is our Princess?”
Every body looked for Princess, but she had gone.
She went snaking out of balairung room, stole a horse, rode the horse toward northern. She went to Medang City; she want to know whether her Palace had burnt or not. She cannot believe the wounded soldiers telling.
“If she had gone then we would have forgotten her for a while.”Now we needed information, what the enemies will do next; what was their planning to attack us.”
The wounded soldier explained, “They will come-up at Jati Wengker in three days from Kedungsongo; their amount was one thousand and five hundred soldiers; their leader was Kebo Anabrang and Boyo Pitu.
I was lucky that I could hear their conversation that they will part in two groups. Kebo Anabrang led group 1 which amount seven hundred persons; they will go straight to Jati Wengker, by crossing Conde River.
Boyo Pitu led group 2,which amount nine hundred soldiers; they will climb Mount Ratu Sewu and then using narrow Snake Valley for coming-up to Jati Wengker.”
“Why do they want to use narrow valley?” Akuwu Wengker asked.
“It was a secret plan of them; they want to make us being surprise since they will come by sudden in front of our Palace.”
“We have to choose which one between the two groups would become our opponent. I chose Boyo Pitu group, since we would have advantageous to win the war.”
“What was your plan Akuwu?”
“We would come at edge of the valley; we would attack them from above with arrows fire, stones and spears. They will have difficulty to maneuver since the valley was so narrow that they could not easy moving.Remember, do not make noise and even we must covered our horse shoe.”
“How do to face Kebo Anabrang’s troop?” Kebo Ireng asked.
“We will burn our Palace which enemies would be included.”
“What? Please do not. That Palace is expenssive.” A soldier gave suggestion
“Even I will donate my soul to win this war.
Akuwu shouted, "Gloria Medang Kingdom, down Wulansari Kingdom.”
“GLORIA MEDANG KINGDOM” All the audience shouted.
“Now we have to work; please do not be late, we just have three days. GO, GO, GO!” Akuwu gave command.
Some soldiers climb trees surround the Palace; they prepared fire arrow to burn the Palace.
The others poured much sulfur at Palace floor and some straws.
A soldier put gold and jewelry boxes on the Palace floor as if the owner had dropped it accidentally in hurry and frightened.
Some workers brought the furniture Palace to the save places.
Then the soldiers ready to burn the Palace with enemies that would rob the Palace.
Some soldiers guided the refugees’ people who had come from Medang City. They will spend time at cave to avoid battlefield.
Akuwu Wengker led his Army as well as Medang soldiers until reached edge of the valley. Seems the two groups of enmity could work together hand in hand; no more hostility between of them. The war against Wulansari kingdom was more important than that civil war, the useless war.
They had collect big stones, ready for throwing enemies in narrow valley.
Boyo Pitu was stupid to choose the snake valley since the valley using just for snake, not for human. However, if his plan did not divulge then he could win easily.
Chapter 2
Princess Putri Sekarpandanwangi rode her horse until she reached edge of Medang City. Smoke itch her eyes, bad smell of dead bodies made her nauseated and many bad things had made frightened. She had never found a battlefield like this event since Medang Kingdom was a peace Kingdom. Now her Country became a horrible places.
She moved to reach the Central City; it became more horrible since many dead bodies of human and horses, burnt houses and no liveliness. Every body had run away toward Jati Wengker.
Finally, she reached her Palace. The enemies had burnt the Palace; the fire still burnt the rest of building.Surprised that she found the dead body of her mother, Ken Umang. She cried and shouted, “Who kill my Mom? Oh Goddess, please stop your punishment to us. Oh Goddess forgive us.”
She dug a hole to bury her mother corpse. No one could help her since any body was at that place. She could finish that job with much effort.
She surprised again, when she found dead body of Ken Uno, Akuwu’s mother.“Oh Wulansari King, what do you want to by destructing, burning and killing every body; you were really mad.”
Again, she dug a hole for Ken Uno, Akuwu’s mother.
She rode her horse, returned to Jati Wengker. All territory of Medang Kingdom had fallen in authority of enemies, except Jati Wengker.
She had to choose step pathway in the forest to avoid enemy. She wearied common dress and a mask to cover her face. She really frightened, “The enemies’ soldiers were really mad; they should just kill the opponent soldier not all people.” She thought.
She found a Hindu Temple that never use again. Now, she could rest in the Temple. A statue of Siwa God was at there. “I knew that you asked me to pray in your house Oh Siwa. Yes I want to pray and promise you to pay homage every day, but please stop your punishment on us.”
She prayed in front the Siwa statue.
Afterward, she wrote poem on the wall of Temple with her sword.
Any one respected a live
They killed human like killing an ant
What value of live
Even soul of a King has no value at all
They came from north
With lust to kill and destroy
What was your purpose?
Even your King did not know
God, please stop your disaster
I knew you are angry to us
You knew that we never pay homage
Please forgive us
She tired but she could not sleep since she afraid. Moreover, she thought her lover, Sora Mahisa, “Why did you kill my father? Was Jaran Edan true? I would rather he was un-true than true. Sora Mahisa, I loved you with all my heart, but why did you cheated on me by killing my father.
Patih Kebo Ireng, all those disasters was because of you. You should report us the planning of Wulansari attacking. You must know what planning of enemy of ours.You are stupid since you just report threatening of Akuwu Wengker.
In addition, you Sora Mahisa, you could laugh because you had your winner now, but who will laugh at the ending; let us wait and see it. Now I hate you, no more love.”
Afterward, she slept beside statue of Siwa.
A Wulansari soldier went into the Temple slowly. Seems he knew that a woman was at there. He found Princess had been sleeping. He came near, sat beside her and waited. He could kill Princess easilly but he did not want to.
One hour later, Princess woke up. She found a stranger sat at beside. She unsheathed her sword and attacked the stranger.
The soldier run away and said, “Princess Putri Sekarpandanwangi, Prince Sora Mahisa had been waiting for you. Please come with us for your safety since this place was dangerous.”
“What? Sora Mahisa was a Prince, not just a soldier. what he had done was an awkward matter; he had attacked Country of his lover; unbelieveable!”
She went out of Temple, rode her horse as fast as she could. She went toward southern to Jati Wengker.
The enemy soldier was right, since she found the enemies had blocked the road. Twenty Wulansari soldiers were at the street, stopped Princess. Princess stopped but she turned back her horse. She run again toward northern to Medang City.
After ten-minute run, she felt hurt on her neck back. She rubbed it; she found a short arrow had stabbed on her neck; it was Sumpit Dayak.
She felt weakness and then she fell down from her horse. However, she still conscious; she could be able to hear. She kept the sumpit in her pocket.
Afterward, some soldiers of Wulansari came out from the bush. They put Princess Body on back of her horse, guided to the military post number sixteenth.
The soldiers were relaxed, drank tuak (beer) and talked. They discussed concerning their military neglected. They admired their tactical was a mistake
Princess could hear their discussing.
“Boyo Pitu should choose another way to come to Jati Wengker. He had fatal mistake to choose the way of snake valley. Therefore,Akuwu Wengker could have an easy way to attack him from above.”
“Kebo Anabrang also was defeated and even dead, burnt in the Akuwu Palace.”
“Please do not talk our loser; now we must go back to Kedungsongo and unite our power to revenge.”
Princess was happy and proud to hear that her stepbrother won at the war of Snake Valley affair, “You are our hero; I apologize to you for our mistake to accuse you.” She tought.
“King Girindrawardana would ad the amount of our military power with seven hundred soldiers, led by Boyo Lali. Boyo Lali was little brother of Boyo Pitu.”
Sumpit Dayak was weapon of Kalimantan people. Some one could blow a pipe to draw a little arrow. The arrow was poisoning; the poison could make the nerve stop working. The victim would die because he or she cannot breath.
Princess could not be able to move her arm and her leg; she also felt heavy for breathing. If she did not treat by some one else then she would have been going to die.
Princess was in jeopardy.
She thought, “If I agreed with that enemy soldier’s suggestion to follow him then I would have been saving now. I have to pretend as if I still loved him but I hated. But now I am going to die”.
A soldier approached her, took her sword and her horse. He left Princess behind since he knew that woman would die soon. He did not care of her. The soldiers went to Kalisosok HQ for consolidation.
Why did they had left Princess. That was because he assumed the woman was just a Medang woman soldier. He knew that Prince Sora Mahisa has a lover, a Princess of Medang Kingdom. If he had known that woman was Prince’s lover then he would have taken care of her.
Chapter 3
Akuwu Wengker and his soldiers had to hide in the deep forest, because he predicted would lose in the next war. He has just little amount soldiers; it was sufficient to face Boyo Pitu and his Army
After he won on the battle of Mount Ratu Sewu, he did not show up in the next battle.
Wulansari Army had difficulty to face their opponent that had never shown up.
Akuwu gave command to Ki Manjangan for spying the enemy maneuver and report to Akuwu Wengker in his Camp. If Akuwu had opportunity to attack then he would have come out from the forest to fight; especially robbing foodstuff’s enemy.
After had killed his own father in law, Prince Sora Mahisa along with his soldiers moved, crossed the north border of Medang Kingdom to invade and conquered Medang Kingdom.
They fought the soldiers’ enemy easily since their opponent did not suppose want to be invaded. The secret information from Mas Alitkereng concerning the attacking had concerned as unimportant issue; that was a fatal mistake of King’s decision at that time.
Then Wulansari soldiers burnt, destroyed the Palace and killed every person of Medang City; a cruel war had happened at the end of Majapahit era.
People run away to Jati Wengker. That was very bad chaos and difficulty.
The enemies moved to Kalisosok and made Head Quarter at that place. Demang Kimarachandra helped them to erect many tents. People knew that this man was traitorous to his own Country.
All territory of Medang Kindom had captured by enemy except Jati Wengker. They had attacked Jati Wengker, but they failed. Akuwu Wengker could defeated them.
Then they retreated to Kalisosok. They consolidated and built their new power. King Girindrawardana sent new troops that was amount seven hundred soldiers. That troops led by Boyo Lali, brother of Boyo Pitu.
They ready for combating against Akuwu Wengker; but they disappointed since their opponent had never shown up. Akuwu Wengker hid in the forest.
Meanwhile the activity of Akuwu Wengker was watching the Wulansari troop at their HQ. Ki Manjangan was always wondering around the enemy’s Camp, spying. One day Ki Manjangan and his little trooper went out of Camp.
He has to report information concerning war impact that hit to people, besides spying.
When they neared military post number sixteenth they surprised to see their Princess was almost dieing; but she still conscious.
“Master, what was happened? Why did you lie down at this site?”
Princess could not be able to talk; she just showed the sumpit dayak in her pocket.
“Oh Wulansari soldier had shot you with blow pipe. Do not worry Master, since I have the antidote from my Dayak friend.”
Ki Manjangan worked to make antidote. He poured powder of herb in a glass of water and then it mixed by stirring. Then the drug was ready to treat Princess.Princess drank the antidote.
Afterward, Princess could move her hands. Not so long he could move her legs. She tried to stand up, but she failed,
“Please Master, do not so fast, we needed time to make you recovering.”
Now Princess could be able to talk, “Ki Manjangan, thank you for your helping. But we need to go from this site as soon as possible since Wulansari soldiers will come and take me to his HQ. I assumed Sora Mahisa will give his command to find me.”
“OK friends let us go now!”
They put body of Princess on the horse back. They went off immediately into the forest.
Ki Manjangan had known every place in the forest, and then they would be saving.
They continued their journey, going deep into forest; and then made Princess wondered, “Hi Ki Manjangan, we had gone so far into deep forest that made me frightened. Is that the right way? Shall we lose our way?”
“That was the right way; because we want to hide.”
“I understood. Hi Kimanjangan, I am going fine; I can seat on the horse saddle; I can move my legs and hands. Thank you Ki Manjangan.”
“Thank you God. You have to say thank you to Goddess.”
“Oh Goddess, I knew you had sent Ki Manjangan to help me; thank you God.”
The forest became dark and dense. Some times, they found big snake and crocodile.
After walked two days in the forest, they reached the camp of Akuwu Wengker.
Ki Manjangan blew his bamboo flute. The sound was melodious. It was a sandy sound to open the gate.
The guard, who was guarding the gate, opened the gate after heard the sound.
They entered the camp. Princess was happy wants to meet her stepbrother.
Now he realized that Akuwu Wengker was a hero of Kingdom; he was a warrior of his Country to chase the enemy away.
She wants to hug him and say sorry for attacking him.
He touched in deep of her heart.
“Ki Manjangan, I want to be a soldier of Akuwu Wengker; I will fight at battlefield to chase the enemy away.”
“Common, you are our leader. Akuwu Wengker was just a warrior; he was our Commandant at war.”
Afterward, Akuwu Wengker came, approached his stepsister and hugged her.Seems he has no aversion to her but love, so did his sister.
“My Princess, welcome to our Camp; I am sorry to welcome you in deep of forest like this. We should welcome you in a beautiful Palace.”
“Brother, I have big mistake that had made you suffering much. Will you give your apology to me?”
“Let us forget it; we should blame Wulansari soldiers, not you.”
